I am not a massive sports fan, apart from football and cycling, and I was totally fed up with all the hype before the games started. However, now that it has actually started I'm really enjoying it. It's just brilliant to see people achieving something positive, and I really hope that young women might actually see a healthy body as something to try and emulate, as opposed to the current trend for orange skin and fake everything.

I've actually changed my mind...am really into it now and looking forward to the 100m tonight!

I was referring to the spat between Shipshape and redpete.

And - I don't think this is particularly positive, do you?
Not fussed, I feel for all the londerers that are being massively inconvenienced.
even though you seem to have changed your mind.

    Nor is this:

I couldn't care less for the games. Complete waste of money and rather quite obscene.

In fact, most of the posts on page 1 are negative.

I was just pointing out that there was another thread that had many more posts and great information - and much more positivity than this one.

You don't need to post on there or even read it if you don't wish to.

Nice to see a proud multi cultural Brit who is good example to us all (Not) beating Usain Bolt in the 100m final.

I have been very impressed with the sportsman-like behaviour of all of the athletes and how team GB have responded to the crowd by giving their all.

Apart from the overpaid and untalented footballers, losing to South Korea (that well-known footballing nation) ... on penalties!

All any other side in any international competition is play to a draw and then win on penalties - yes I know that always happens to England, but it was an English player who missed.

When will the UK press, in particular the English press, ever realise that our home spun footballers are worthless. Take this headline Team GB's Olympic football venture a success. This is the new meaning of success and talent as applied to English footballers - nowhere near a medal!

And finally Team GB players ready for England promotion despite penalty defeat to South Korea says it all

    <flame off>

I know this may be controversial, but I'm not trolling, just venting. It's strictly just my opinion.

P.S Especially good luck for all of the brave Para Olympians.

I voted yes but need to point out that they are not para-olympians but Paralympians.

Like others, personally I am sick of hearing about it already. The guys getting gold medals deserver it, have worked hard and I wish them all the luck in the future so I dont think anyone can disagree with that. However, it's laughable how 'proud' people are of being British all of a sudden. There is nothing in the UK to be proud of anymore, I hate the way people refuse to accept this and jump onto any potential achievement. First the queens jubilee (well done for living off the back of british taxpayers for the past 60 years, many of whom are on their !!!! financially) and now it is the olympics. Britain sucks, being British sucks. Lets face it and all get the hell out of here! I am certainly on my way!
