Go Team GB

Let's stop moaning about the Olympics and get behind Team GB.

They've put the training in and this is their chance to shine in front of a home crowd.

Success only comes before work in the dictionary, these athletes have dedicated their lives to being the best.

The British love to moan, but the cost of the games and traffic etc etc is not the athletes fault. Let's put a stop to the moaning until after the games and be proud of our nation and show the tourists what a great nation we live in.

London looks amazing at the moment, the sun's out, there's an amazing atmosphere, a lot of effort has been put into making this a great games.

We should be proud of our athletes and para athletes, our armed forces for rescuing us at out time of need, the volunteers and the police whose leave has been cancelled.

Have a smile on your face, cheer all of the athletes especially Team GB and get your flags out. When England play in the footie tournaments, the country is awash with flags. There are not many flags out get them all out Union Flags, Scottish, NI, Welsh etc be proud and give the athletes that extra push.

The traffic is already really bad in Central London, but this is a once in a life time event, sacrifices need to be made for a few weeks by everyone. The world is looking at the UK and I think they will be impressed.

Unlike our lazy England team all of the athletes will give 100% effort for a fraction of their wages.

Come on Team GB give your best for the UK and come one the UK give your best for Team GB.

P.S Especially good luck for all of the brave Para Olympians.

P.P.S The torch goes right past my house today...

Just watched the Torch from the comfort of my local pub, what an atmosphere.

Conveniently they changed over torches right outside, the torch carries were mobbed for photos. They looked so proud.

The police were all waving to the kids and had personalised their cars and bikes.

How the Met torch body guards can keep jogging in this heat is amazing.

Well done organisers, certainly brought a great party to my local area and the party in the pub is just starting.

    Bring on the games
  • Not really a fan of sport but I wish all the athletes well.
  • Not fussed, I feel for all the londerers that are being massively inconvenienced.

  • Loving the Olympics and it hasn't really started yet! Feel sorry for those who are 'inconvenienced ' but it's only two weeks not a lifetime.

    Come on Team GB!

I'd be behind them more if it wasn't for the fact people think they are competing for England.

It's driving me mad. On the tom Daley program 3 separate people spoke about the athletes competing For England.

It's always the same, until chris hoy wins a medal and ooooh it's all about BRITAIN then eh

This must have been going on for decades!

I remember someone complaining, many, many, years ago, that when an English athlete won it was a medal for England but when a Scot won it suddenly became a medal for Britain.

I'm in the other camp I loath and detest the build-up:(

The Olympics haven't even started* and I'm already fed up with olympic this and olympic that. Every advert on the TV is yet another plug for the corporate olympics.

All the news programs are full of how well team GB will do and how well prepared the team is - just like the England* football team.

Not to mention the Lisa Simpson blow job logo and the one-eyed trouser snake mascots - I look forward to the opening ceremony just to see how bad it can get.

Once the events start properly then I'll take an interest.

    * Yes I know that some events have already started and England is different from GB.

It's like the build up to Xmas, but MASSIVELY bigger.

Everyone dreads the all consuming build up of Xmas pressure. This is pretty much the same. Even tampon adverts are Olympics based.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I was looking forward to the olympics with all that follows but...

A young athlet was picked to run the torch where I live. In preperation the area was decorated and banners put up and everyone was excited.

A large number of people had turned up to see the torch run. To our astonishment a bus followed by a number of police motorbikes drow past us at high speed. It was supposed to be torch-run and not a torch-drive-by.

After that someone announced that due to this being a high risk area the torch could not be run and we might aswell go home now... I feelt like a criminal...go back to your cell and lock the door behind you.

Surely if the torch can be run though east london...

    Rant over..

Anyway. Japan's football team gave some of the olympian spirit back.
