Butti's Journey: A matter of loaf and death

Ticking 'Thanks' seems somewhat inadequate!!!!
Will certainly bear it in mind Snagggles. I think a serious Gumtree list is coming on.
Right wish me luck. I'm venturing into the garage for a while. Mantra must be 'Clear...clear...sell...clear'.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

Butti - have you surfaced from the garage yet? I hope so! I'm way behind the times so off to flick back some pages and find what's going on *lapses into tunless murder of Marvin Gaye's song of the same name*Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Oh my. Not much going on for you then Butti!!!! If I wasn't assuming you'd gone into the garage up North, I'd be asking who you were in the garage with and just how large a T-shirt collection do you have anyway!!!
Somewhere over the last few pages I had some ideas but they'll probably all be out of date now...
Borrowing from family - yes! You know I did it and it worried me much more than any of the money I owed any of the banks! But as every-one has already said, it turns out my family wouldn't have had it any other way...
Did you have a chat with your Dad? Because the other thing I was thinking if you haven't, is, what about credit unions? Snaggles might have more proper advice than me? I just know there's one advertised on my payslip regularly and I keep meaning to look in to what they offer - so I thought I'd throw it in to the mix.
You are doing so many things at once Butti, it's no wonder it gets overwhelming. And I know how never-ending it can feel. Do remember to make time to look after you too. Reading your pages so closely together, I saw one wee phrase a lot, "I'm tired". You are doing a lot at work, a lot at home, a lot of travelling, a night class... I know how hard it is to slow down - especially when you've so much going on. But try and find one, wee quiet thing to do each day that's just for you - look through your mum's recipe book, or stare out the window at the view, watch a crappy movie and shout at the telly... whatever it is, you're allowed and it's important for your sanity! Do it!

Aww bless you niccatw - sadly, most of my knowledge is useless (because it relates to Scots law) or out of date (because I haven't worked in the English financial sector for a few months and things change so rapidly).
With credit unions though, you usually have to save (I think typically for 3 months, but I'm not certain about this) before you can borrow, so they might not be suitable for obtaining funds in the immediate future. Could be worth a look though.I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Thanks Nic. Unsurprisingly I AM TIRED again. Today (technically yesterday!) I;
let the wardrobe man in and made him a cup of tea
applied sealant to the join behind the sink
tidied the front and back garden up
cleared two bedrooms
cleared up the mess left from fitting a new wardrobe
cleared the balcony
cleaned the front door
Hoovered throughout
Staged three bedrooms
Cleaned and cleared the kitchen
Cleared the living room.
Worth it though. Tomorrow the agent will do the photo's. Must go to sleep (am still in my clothes!!!)Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

In a room surrounded by stuff...Feel like I'm drowning slightly.
Right...what do I do with a flirtaceous landlord who I find attractive and whom had a heart attack about 3 months ago!??
