It isn't epic, but I would have said I don't want the items and gone elsewhere.
At that particular time it seemed 'epic'. Possibly I should have used another word as it has made forumees very cross indeed.

Unfortunately, a lot of forum members seem to completely fail to grasp the nature of a vent.

It's quite permissible to get somewhat upset about about something and, in a moment of extreme annoyance, vent in a manner that exaggerates the overall importance of the problem in the general scheme of things.

What should be a little harmless letting off of steam is then analysed and picked apart over a series of days with the mandatory ridicule and belittling of the OP by those who get their kicks from doing that.

For most human beings, there are occasions when we get overly vexed by small things that others really care very little about.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

I so agree with your post. I find some of the responses to be way of the mark and some of them have been inappropriate. Posters read what they want to read and get the wrong end of the stick as it suits them to be nasty and spiteful. I am sure though there are people out there who absolutely get where you are coming from. And indeed where I am coming from!! Some posters though have been OK and I do thank them for that.

    Thank you again.

Nothing wrong in venting at your vent though in the vent forum :)

Popped into Marks to pick up some sandwiches before catching a train. My daughter was with me and she chose some bits as well. I was the traveller and the payer so wanted mine in a separate free bag. I asked for another small FREE bag and she said that we could only have one free bag per customer. We would have to therefore stump up 5p for another bag.

I honestly didnt think I had heard her correctly and she repeated what she had said. 'They charge 5p in Wales for a free bag' she said. I pointed out that I was in Skipton not Swansea. I was by this time absolutely raging. She couldnt have cared less and promptly gave me the look of 'I dont care so buzz off'. My daughter reigned me in and after I had paid we walked out with disgust all over our faces.

I call it mean and pernicious. I know they are having a bit of a knock but so are we - the hard pressed customer. PR is not now on top of their priority list and profit is all encompassing to them. Poor us (general public) being at their mercy - all for a free 5p bag that wasnt.

I honestly thought I had read the post wrong, you're raging over a 5p bag?

Like the other posters - youve read it wrong - or got the wrong end of the stick. Follow thread.

I pity the shop assistant who had to put up with you "...after I had paid we walked out with disgust all over our faces." You're one of those people, aren't you?

    Xmas Saver!
Will never forget the time M & S first charged my Gt Aunt for bags. She had done her whole weeks shopping in there.
To my horror she unpacked every bag ,turned it inside out and repacked it while chirping in a slightly too loud voice -
' I am not paying to advertise you shop !'
