I am going to repeat myself here. I was having a one off rant. I was cross at the principal of the matter. I dont really give a dam but at the time I was taken aback.
Its taken 23 posts for you lot to tell me to get a life. I actually do have a life and a good and happy life.
Read the thread in the spirit in which it was posted - and FHS stop getting all moral-high ground oh saintly people out there.0 -

I think you've missed the point of most of the posts. None of us are saintly, I certainly am not. You weren't having a rant, you were denigrating a shop and questioning their motives. All for a 5p bag.
An attack is not a rant.0 -
I saw 'epic fail' in the title of this thread - misleading advertising, I'm going to sue you 5p (which I will spend on a carrier bag) :-P0
-
You are complaining over 5p, yet pay a small fortune for ready made sandwiches and bottled drinks?
You obviously knew you would be catching a train that day, why didn't you take your own sandwiches and drink?!0 -
Send me your address and I'll send you the 5p....dear god.... /facepalm
The only fail in this thread was posting it in the first place.0 -
It's extreme to call it an epic fail. It's also completely inappropriate to be "absolutely raging" at the shop assistant, who can't change company policy. I'm sorry, but if you post on here boasting about being rude to someone you're going to get some negative replies, she was just trying to do her job. If you are really against M&S's policy of charging for carrier bags write to head office to complain, but you will get your message across more clearly if you are less emotional.0

I feel like sending £10 for the inconvenience, too!
It's a ridiculous situation! The simple answer to it is to put the shopping through as 2 separate transactions, but OP doesn't seem to see that!
If I need to pay for a bag, I will. Or why not pay 5p more and get a bag for life?
