We'll be submitting a subject access request, demanding the phone transcript and a copy of the contract (as per usual, they deny any knowledge of Mum's cancellation letter), but the sad thing is, the easiest thing to do will be to pay it as Mum can't face the long slog of court action, the costs involved, which will probably shoot in to the thousands, and the debt collection company racking up further charges.
Action Fraud advised that as they seem to be a legal company, what they're doing is morally wrong, but they can't pass this to the Police until the phone transcripts arrive and we have further evidence.
Those of you who think you have cancelled your contract, PLEASE investigate this. All mail to the company should be sent by recorded or special delivery - please follow this up - look up those reviews and posts on google, it seems to me that from April onwards, those of us who though we had cancelled are now hit with this nightmare and you will be too. You will most likely receive a letter from the debt collectors who will give you no warning and leave you no time to dispute.
I really wish someone like Martin, or Watchdog would do an investigation on this company - legal though they may be - are their selling methods? I will be pursuing this, as I have a horrible feeling that even if we pay, it won't be left there.
I heartily second that. Satlite Limited/Capital Credit are trying to get money from me too, saying I had a contract. These companies may not be the same but it would not surprise me if there was some link between them - or a copycat company has been set up. Nice to have found you Florence22!0 -
Great to have found you too LizaM - let's hope we can help others out who need it!0

This industry has been done by watchdog already, how about not giving your card details to people who phone you up? and not agreeing to things until you have the paper work.
If people make even basic steps to protect themselves this type of thing would end.0 -

It would seem that Watchdog aren't interested as those of us who have contacted them have had no reply - probably because of the reason you state above.
I do though find your following comment a little heartless to say the least. These companies are using agressive, misleading sales techniques, using Sky as a way to gain trust and then rapidly instilling fear and worry to take their money.
My Mum is elderly and vulnerable but not stupid, she would normally never give her card details over the phone to someone who has cold-called her, and takes basic steps to protect herself. She is signed up for the TPS. She thought they were from Sky. the fact that she initially agreed is testament to them successfully misrepresenting themselves. Why else would other not-so-elderly and far more savvy people have fallen for this. This and the TAPA scam (for example) have proved that it's not enough to take basic steps, something needs to be done. A change in the law, prison for those found guilty, compensation for victims, the Authorities to take it seriously and do something.
we are not posting on Forums to moan, we want to do something positive to help and support other victims0 -
Well said Flo, with ya all the way.

Me too!! I've lost the whocallsme site. Its either been shut down, crashed, or somebody has found a way to block it. Peculiar to say the least. Doubt they could block this one though.0
