Ah right, so I cannot watch anything I have [STRIKE]taped[/STRIKE] recorded either??
ETA: Showing my age, LOL.0 -
Thank you Spike, I have bought the one you have suggested in your post. I knew I had spent the whole week listing and selling stuff for a reason. It doesn't feel like I have had to pay for it this way I suppose.
You have been a brilliant help, thank you.0 -

Don't worry about it,I also say 'taped' instead of recorded,s'pose when you grew up with 8 track cassettes,Betamax & top loading VCR's....0 -
LOL, Indeed and sitting with your tape player on a Sunday night stop - starting when the music you like came on and hoping you did not get anyone talking, then you could listen to it while on your paper round. Never heard the ends of songs though. LOL.0

Me again.....
Spike, my husband came home today and noticed that the bracket that holds the receiver onto the dish has been snapped off and someone has taped it back on. or when they did this, but it has been strapped back on with electrical tape. We have had odd problems with it losing signal but assumed it was the trees/weather, only the sun on the tape has caused the tape to come unstuck and it has started slipping out of alignment and this is how my husband noticed it, it was at a point of nearly falling off. Annoyed about this but nothing we can do about it.
Would the receiver hanging off make the box freeze up like it has been and stop telling us what is on?
My other question now is that the new box has been ordered, so are we able to swap the white Sky+ box we have (on multiroom) with the Sky+ HD box? I think the HD package is free but is there anything further we would need to do to get the box working please.
Thanks.0 -

My LNB is also like that thanks to a neighbors bloody pigeons sitting on it,have'nt got round to replace it yet.It would cause picture issues but not what you've been getting with the box.If it's just the plastic bit on the LNB (the reciever thing) then you can easily replace it,just pop out the locking pin about an inch from the end of the arm where the plastic joins, slide the old one out & replace, making sure the new pin is inserted.

And yes you can simply swap the boxes around.
(I'm away from tonight till Sunday, bringing dogs for rehoming from NI to England, something I volunteer at,so appologies if I dont get to see any other questions till then)0 -
Almost embarrased to admit but I have just noticed on a statement a monthly direct debit from digital services uk, £5.99/month. Set up in march 2008.... I have called them and they have no record of a direct debit mandate but claim my husband set this up. They also say they don't have a record of the conversation.
Whn we took out our subscription with sky my husband and I discussed insurance and agreed not to take it out. We are perplexed about this and have paid 500 quid to these people , how depressing. Any suggestions, aside of get a lobotomy reversal...Needless to say the direct debit has been canned.... :mad:0 -

Shouldn't there be a written agreement or something though? We have never received an paperwork from this company?0

just a small reminder, if anyone are taking out warranty (I never have in 17 years and never needed it anyway) - sky's own warranty is through D&G (domestic and general) and NO-ONE else - I used to work for them and have heard many sky customers horror stories about how much they pay to these companies, I also have had this scamming company on the phone trying to sell me warranty, didn't give me the company name, when I asked and got it, pointed out that sky use D & G and they hung up on me, aw shame that0
