Would a weekly caravan rental work until you find a house? I assume there must be lots of holiday parks if you are coastal. I suppose you could even buy a cheap caravan and rent a remote pitch and then sell on when you find a house.
I say this because I remember previous posts of yours on the housing board and that you like your own space are happy not to "lord" it0 -
I'm looking everywhere at the moment. One of the problems is that nobody wants a lodger without a job. Nobody wants a lodger hanging around the house all day doing !!!! all.Look in the paper at ppl wanting lodgers. Ex mil takes them in and has a (super clean) quiet house, and she'd love a quiet, tidy older person!
It'd drive me crazy to live there but theres no love lost between us
I can't get a job until I've got a home settled.... and I plan to look for work once I've got a home... but, in the meantime, people with rooms are picky about age, hobbies, lifestyle, working/not.0 -
They aren't cheap. They're £500-1000/week as you're paying for "sleeps 6/8" or "sleeps 4".Would a weekly caravan rental work until you find a house? You can't buy a cheap caravan on a holiday park. Firstly, round here, cheap is £30-40k, you need a permanent address - and on top of that the annual rent on the plot is £3k. You have to buy a caravan on an existing plot; you can't buy a caravan and then rent a pitch and move it on.
So it's not a cheap or quick solution.... I've checked/looked 100x.0 -

There are a few sites round here that are all year round and quite cheap. I can vouch for them being nice, know people that live there and have done for years.
Eta there are little touring type caravans there, £80 ish per week I think. Can supply the number if pastures New is interested :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Yes, I can see that but not even if you bought a second hand caravan from autotrader and parked in a farmer's field?0 -
But that's near you ... and I don't live near you do I.... or do you know where I am?There are a few sites round here that are all year round and quite cheap. I can vouch for them being nice, know people that live there and have done for years.

[a] That's not very safe, secure or legal.Yes, I can see that but not even if you bought a second hand caravan from autotrader and parked in a farmer's field?
There's no address - can't get things mailed/posted to a caravan in a field. And in order to carry out a reasonable person's lifestyle, I'd want a proper address and letter box.
And
[c] You're now suggesting I live in a wonky caravan in a muddy field without access to basic services... because some parents are bad at parenting?
That's a leap.0 -
No one gives kids fizzy drinks at breakfast time
I have lots of children and find your comments irritating. You were a child once you know!
you would think. however I often see them as I pass the local shop in the morning.
some parents seem to have to go to this shop in the morning. Don't know why0 -
