BB I wish we had a co-op near to me I have only a Mr T about a mile away and they rarely ever YS down to that price,in fact their reductions are so bad they are not worth bothering about
Adsa's is 5 miles away and saindbobs about 2 miles and you have to be quick in there as the stuff vanishes. The best bargain I got from there once was a sack of onions 7.5 kg for 10p and I spent hours peeling, chopping and freezing diced onions.Only managed half the bag the rest I passed on to neighbours locally to use.But I didn't need to buy onions for months:):):)
I haven't been this lucky with reduced food in months Jackie, so I don't expect this every week.
I can't afford to shop in the co-op normally so I only go in to see what they have at the end of the day, sometimes I am lucky, sometimes I'm not. But it is nice when it happensBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Just had a gorgeous chicken chow mein - better than Chinese I would say and for fraction of price.
Aldi noodles 59p
Aldi chow mein sauce 39p
1 chicken breast - thinly sliced (from freezer but also Aldi)
1/2 red onion - sliced
Piece of red pepper - thinly sliced
Few sliced mushroom - from freezer (usually slice and freeze 1/2 punnet to have handy)
Marinade chicken in 1 tbs light soy & 1 tbs dark soy for however long - was couple of hours today.
Fry off chicken couple of mins, them add mushrooms, add peppers last, then add sauce and bung in noodles - Done!!
All in 5 mins :j
Definitely be doing this again - you could use whatever veg in fridge freezer, or do with other meat, prawns or without!
Filled up a hungry man after day at work, myself and 2 yo! very excited about this cheap quick and effective meal, definitely be a regular n can just double up for extra portions!Debt Aug 14 - O/D £1250, Halifax CC £1915 (0%) Santander CC £1450 Barclay CC £345 Next 335

Definitely some good deals there. Will get most of these (probably not the chillies as have several nearly ready in the garden).
Thanks BB.

The trick is to go shopping in the afternoon or about 7pm to get the bargains and just sit down and think what you can do with all that lovely low cost food
[/QUOTE]
I go to lidless a lot now and I've found if I go first thing in a morning, or up to about 10.00 a.m. I usually find lots of their fresh foods and meat especially reduced by 30 %.
Today I got 2 x pits of 8 thick beef burgers reduced to £1.06 a PKT
2 x chicken breast with a spicy vouchers cous top at £1.04 a PKT
2 x sirloin steaks, very lean at £3.50
2 x cod fish cakes - these are fresh and taste great .99p
A PKT of stewing beef for £2.50
And a LRG garlic & herb fresh chicken £2.74
We (4 of of us) have all had a roast for tea, and the rest of the chicken, will make a chicken curry for children TOM tea and dome for a soup as well.0 -

to Tessie Bear, our Aldi used to do those chicken portions also, till I discovered them, then they discontinued them, story of my life, and that was well over a year ago now. used to get a good 3 meals for 3 of us out of those and sometimes some left for a much up with other leftovers to make a casserole type thing. oh well, but why do some stores sell some things and others not?? it's not as if these days we all don't need the cheaper stuff, and they were such good quality aswell.
They only have then in the Autumn and Winter and they are still £1.69 a bagBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

This is a great frugal recipe (infact her whole blog is full of them) IT's only 15p a serving and could be done for less.

I always use proper mash and my gnocchi are as light as a feather, some recipes add an egg as wellBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
