i went shopping this morning and aldi has reduced their 2l milk to 95p and butter has gone down to 95p
I agree, eggs are really good for a filling meal, DH came in yesterday having started work at 3am and not managed his lunch and I gave him a huge omelette made with 4 eggs, total cost was 27p and he was full right through til dinner.0 -
Do you get hungry just having fruit for breakfast (on the days that you do)?
How do you manage if you're really hungry? I get shakey, and I think it's due to poor diet because I'm not actually hungry... It's odd. I'd worry that I'd get shakey if I just had fruit for breakfast, but would like to try it.

The offers are still on until Wednesday 28th. I went in today and got more of eveything and I will top up again on Thursday when we go shopping.
I have frozen six packs of the rhubarb and I also have frozen four rhubarb crumbles.
My rhubarb in the garden has another year before I can start using it and as we all love it, I want to stock as much as I can
The pears are lovely as well, you just have to leave them for a few days to soften up a bit. I have also peeled and quatered a bag of them and froze them as well just for a pear and chocolate pudding nom, nom, nomBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I have started using the local market and greengrocer for a lot more fruit and veg because they both have some good deals, plus the stuff is fresher and larger than Aldi and you can buy whatever you need.
Mind you we have been living on salad for the last two weeks.
I still buy frozen though especially in aldi, it is a shame that their frozen veg range isn't bigger.
Farmfoods isn't bad but you have to bear in mind that their bags are only 750g whereas Aldi are 1kg bagsBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

There is an excellent website - I am a new user so MSE website won't let me paste the direct url but search for thriftylesley.com - which has lots of good recipes how to feed 1 person for £1 per day. It also has weekly shopping lists for all of the ingredients you need for that week's recipes.0

I assume £7 per week is now almost impossible unless you already have some essentials to start with or have some kind of (staff) discount at supermarket(s)0
