How many credit cards do you have?

I have 2 at the moment
Tesco - £3500 limit, 0 balance
Halifax Clarity - £6500 limit, 0 balance
I generally use the Tesco one for everything, but if I have months where work expenses are big, I can get close to hitting that limit.
I'm considering swapping the Tesco one for a BA Amex one, as the airmiles / free matching flight offer appeal, and I'd hope that, unlike Tesco, the Amex might actually tie the limit to what I spend (and pay off) every month. I've already had one £12 fee for going over my Tesco limit for two days. If this impacts my credit score, I'm not sure I can keep taking the risk.0 -

Just one
0% Barclaycard Platinum which runs out in September (£1800 of £5000 limit used)
Soon I need to pay this off, then get a cashback card to pay for my car insurance, then possibly get another 0% card or a Santander 321 cardThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just got rid of two cards but because they were from MBNA they technically count as one - I never wanted nor used the Amex and after all the threads I see in this section about them I feel like I've had a lucky escape. Another card's due for the chop now that its annual bill has come and gone.
Once down to three, one has BTs on it and I don't spend anymore, the other is for Paypal but I'll change that one to Tesco later on.
The "winner" is Nationwide. Personally never had any hassle with them, good communication, they phoned me to make sure I was the one doing the spending when the pattern matched fraud that they'd seen before with other customers - their current account and ISA service in branch can vary but no complaints at all about the credit division.
When I make the change to Tesco that would be the end of it, I'd have the balance of service and rewards that I wanted and would stick with three until the BTs were paid off.0 -

I think they mean the card is used for PayPal, not the PayPal credit card...I might be wrong0 -

No you're right, it's a different provider where I've assigned all my Paypal spending to go. In light of the site's new owners though I tend to only highlight the very best and worst from experience. However all my credit cards came from places where I'd already banked or had some other connection first.
I've just got over the constant chopping and changing, I know the final card I want. Only a negative change in terms would cause any further changes then I'd just lose the offending card and carry on with the remainder.0 -
I have two Mastercards:
Virgin 0% until Dec12 - 3.2k/3.5k limit (stoozing card)
Barclays Goldfish - paid in full every month for the benefits (1.5k limit)
Considering going for AmEx Nectar as I shop often at Sainsbury's and it would be a greater benefit comparing to the Goldfish card. And at the same time I would like to have an alternative to MasterCard.0 -
We've got 7 at the moment. We spend everything on 0% cards and offset the payments against our mortgage, so that is why there are so many. Currently about 40k offsetting so it is well worthwhile.
Our 7th card is our 'backup', which is the Capital One 1% cashback card. If we ever find ourselves between cards, whilst waiting for a new 0% application to come through, we fall back on this as at least we still get 1% back, even though not as good as the mortgage offset.0
