    I have:

    Tesco

    John Lewis

House of Fraser (cancelling this month as their Sale offeres aren't good value any more)

IHG/Priority club - took this one on a 40,000 Miles / £99 annual fee refunded offer last month.

Main purpose it to earn BA Miles (now called Avios) and this is what the Tesco and IHG ones are for.

    All get paid off monthly.

Have previously had an Amex Gold for the same purpose, but cancelled that before this year's annual fee and will probably get a BA-flavoured one again when there is a good offer on.

Barclaycard Initial Visa - £800 Limit.
Capital One Classic - £500 Limit. (Except mine is black & grey rather than the black & purple in the picture!)

    Just building credit really.

My pet hate is cards of any kind being used for trivial purchases. I do prefer cash.
So you wouldn't have appreciated being behind me today whilst I bought a 59p Yorkie bar on my CC then? :) (and by C+P too!)

I thought it was easier than handing over a £20 note as I didn't have any change. Thats my pet hate, having something like £19.41 thrown in your hand and then practically being shoved out of the way to make room for the next customer. A card is far easier to put away than several notes and coins. To be honest, it was probably quicker than getting out the cash and then putting away the change.

    Just the two

Halifax with a limit of £4200 with £248 outstanding.
MBNA with a limit of £2300 with £695 outstanding. Initially borrowed £2200 on a super balance transfer towards buying a car in November last year with 0% APR until October. Been trying my hardest to get it paid off before then and will wipe the current balance next week 3 months ahead of schedule :j
Halifax will get cleared next month with the money I'll have saved by clearing the MBNA card. Debt free here I come :D

    I've got three.

Barclaycard - used in the past for 0% balance transfer but currently clear. £11,900 limit.

Post Office - as above, but still using on holidays. Cleared every month. £10,000 limit.

BoS - I was persuaded to take this out when I was in for a loan with Halifax a few years ago. No current balance. Limit £8,300.

I took redundancy last year ( I like to call it early retirement :rotfl:) and there's no way my current income would cover even half my limit total, so I'm thinking I should cull the cards, or at least reduce the limits. I'll never use the available credit but I'm loathe to let it go. Reminds me of the good times

I'll see your yorkie and raise you a20p banana :)

I have a vanquis visa, nil balance but £1500 limit so handy for emergencies out in case I ever need to buy anything large.

LTSB avios with a 500 limit and a 350 balance I transferred on there (0%) which will be paid off in about three months.

Cap one cashback visa for day to day purchases, 500 limit, about 300 spent on there, cleared every month.

Used to pay by debit card for everything, but hate the idea that fraudsters could get my current account details. Cash is used for the occasional bus ride, parking machines and those irritating places that don't take cards.

    Ahem!

As I do say here http://headforpoints.com/2012/07/10/goodbye-to-the-lloyds-tsb-duo-avios-cards-after-1-1m-avios/ , I have not actually cancelled my Lloyds Avios cards yet!

You shouldn't really cancel a card if you booked refundable hotels or flights on it, since if you end up cancelling them you will be spending a lot of time on the phone to the card company trying to track down your money if the card is cancelled. I will keep the card until all of my pre-booked travel has gone.

I also still need to use my 2-4-1 voucher, and I don't want to jeapordise that by cancelling the card before I've booked.
