So it's not the actual clarity, just looks the same lol_________________________________________
@ 08/13 total was £8,008.28-Pay off £1500 by end 2013 Challenge = £220/ £1500 14.67%0 -
It was a cancer research mastercard issued by halifax, then they replaced it with a clarity x designed one
Ah I see, thought I'd missed something! Although if you're not using it you could ring them and see if they'll change it to a Clarity if you travel abroad, it's invaluable! Might be worth a shot?0 -
Thanks for that tip, will give it a go!!
Does seem to have some great benefits if used abroad. Is it the best for use overseas?_________________________________________

DH and I have 4 (see my signature) We did have Capital one too plus 3 storecards but they were paid off a while ago thank god. Getting there slowly. Why anyone would want more than 1 is beyond me now.[STRIKE]£49,129[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£[/STRIKE][STRIKE]43,012 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£42,209[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£40,823[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£39,866[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£25,960[/STRIKE]£21,338 _party_

More or less yes, zero forex fee, so you'd get the Mastercard exchange rate, which is always better than a bureau de change, with the added bonus of fee free cash withdrawals.
The cash withdrawals, while having no fee, and also being at the interbank exchange rate, would be charged interest from the day of withdrawal, but this is likely to be less than you'd normally pay with your credit/debit card, and can be minimised by a faster payment to the card as soon as possible after withdrawal0 -

One reason - and it is my reason - is because of the 0% int on bal trans when one card's credit limit is not sufficient for this.0 -
Reading through the whole of this thread it's pretty much obvious that some posts are more wishful thinking than an accurate list of credit cards. Anyone who says they have more than 3 or 4 credit cards goes onto my suspicious list.
Anyway, back prior to 2008 I had two cards, Mastercard and VISA but after sliding down to the skids by being made redundant in 2008 I only have one with a £500 limit and I'm staying with one with a £500 limit: It's too painful when it all goes bad!0 -
I've only got 1, it's an old 1% cash back card from years ago, a Halifax one. I spend on it every month fuel and groceries. And any other significant spends, just for the cash back. It does help me budget, too, actually. But then I'm not a big spender. I usually get mine paid in early September, so not too far away. Paid off each month.Bossymoo

Why? It's quite easy to accumulate cards. A bit too easy in my opinion but there you go. Some people have several cards because they've trawled the CC market for various offers over the years and ended up with several cards due to that.
Ok, it's Not the way I'd do things personally, and if they ran each of those cards up to its limit then it would probably be unpleasant, but it's perfectly do-able and I don't see what's "suspicious" about it.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

My parents used to have one (each) on the same account and Dad had his wallet stolen on a visit to see when I was living in France. He phoned to cancel his card and the company said it had to cancel Mum's too so they were left in France with little cash and no cards. Fortunately I was able to lend them what they needed and thy reimbursed me but after this experience they got another card plus the replaced one so that if they lost one or it was stolen they had back up.
Having said all that I am quite content with three cards one Amex, one MasterCard and one Visa, just in case only one is accepted (eg Visa at the Olympics). I would be afraid if I had more I would lose track.0
