    Good evening.
I am sat having a latte, watching the olympics.
I am not at all hungry, so will not snack this evening...

The weather isn't too good for us tomorrow, but i am still determined to drag the kids out for a good walk tomorrow. We are doing a 4mile walk around the river. I havent even been there before, despite living so close (a 20mins drive), so its about time!

    How is everyone else?

    Evening people.

I had dinner at Mum's so no say in what I ate. I also had a bottle of rose *blushes*. It's the only day of the week I drink but I guess I shall have to be more careful in future. No sweets or dessert today, which is always good.

Tomorrow I guess I shall do a couple more of the work outs and try to drag myself out for a walk but as I am sleeping on the sofa tonight (kids sleeping in the tent in the garden) I am not sure how much energy I will have.

Hope you all had a great night!

    Hi everyone,

Is it too late for me to join? I would really like to lose a stone. I don't really do any exercise, but my husband and I are going to try and go for a short walk every evening.

Our biggest problem is snacking and not knowing what to eat as healthier options without it costing the earth. Does anybody have suggestions for work lunches?

Thanks everyone & good luck :)

    Morning everyone :)

Wyre- dont worry about the wine, we are all allowed treats every now and again. Good luck on getting out for your walk!

Welcome to yorkie18. NO, never too late to join! IN regards to work lunches, there is a HUGE packed lunch thread on here somewhere, i'll see if i can hunt it down for you, i am sure it'll be helpful.

    Morning all :)

Hello Yorkie and welcome. It's not too late as WTB has taken up my suggestion and we have cunningly redeclared now as the start, sort of!

In terms of lunches, I now take in a hearty salad each day (the usual base of mixed leaves, tomatoes & cucumber), the add any of the following:

    Avocadoes
    Leftover meats/any cold meat
    Feta cheese
    Mozarella
Veg - if I have stir fried some I just throw in a bit extra for my lunchbox
    Tinned fish
    Wild rice
    Beans/lentils

It's proven that upping the protein content of your meals keeps you fuller for longer. You don't have go low carb, but it's worth keeping your protein intake up.

If you prefer sarnies, try the above fillings in wholemeal pitta, or hot food, maybe lentil and veg soups in flasks.

Snacks - anything healthy but I take hummous and carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, sliced ham, hard boiled eggs or fruit.

Well, last night was a bit of a blowout as my mum is visiting this weekend & we went for a Thai meal so I had duck with coconut rice, plus wine which is not at all healthy! :o We are also going for lunch today & eating out is my biggest downfall.

I totally agree with gunsnbanjos about stopping when you are full, but in a restaurant I absolutely hate the thought of leaving food. I used to work in restaurants and frequently chefs would query plates sent back half eaten as they assumed the customer didn't like the meal. I know this shouldn't bother me, but it does. I think I'm going to have to be stricter with myself as well as opt for the healthier choices on menus in future.

We did loads of work on the garden (bombsite) yesterday though, and looks like the sun may just about hold today.

Hope everyone has a good day :)
Proud to be a moneysaver :)

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone :)

Thanks for the link WTBSE there's lots of great ideas there.

We're off to do the weekly shop in a bit and I've done a list (which I must stick to!) and it's all pretty healthy stuff so fingers crossed this week is a good week.

Have a good day everyone x

Well, i dont think we'll be getting out for a walk, the rain has started! It's been so lovely over the last week, it's such a shame that it's started to rain.
I am planning on giving my tae bo DVD a go instead..yikes!! I am thinking i could do that once a week, then the Jillian Michaels 30 day shread 3 times a week.
    I cant use anymore excuses!!
  • Morning, am feeling a bit off today, got a pain in my right eye which I suspect I may need to have looked at again as it generally does :(
an old ongoing problem which flares-up every so often and puts me on anti-biotics - net result is I can't drink while on them so that'll surely help me lose some more.

Good to see more people signing up, the more the merrier and more support all round :D:D
