Frequent bathing strips all the natural oils out of the coat, Ellie gets done once a month at the most, she might get to look a wee bit grubby before a bath but I hate bathing her to much. Arran my sheltie hasn't had a bath in over three years, he gets done with Bicarb.0

thanks i thought it could cause skin problems if to often think might try 4 to 6 weeks unless needed
Yes thats why we kept to every 6 weeks at the groomers, as too frequent bathing can as already said strip the coat of natural oils and wesites can be prone to skin problems.
But of course if they roll in poo/muck etc then you have to take action. Just stay away from cow pats.

we brought a puppy shampoo but it dont smell very nice, but she loved the bath, must say this puppy is too good to b true!
how often do you bath dogs have read every two weeks but isnt that too often?
i can never remember my parents bathing our yorkie that often?
i have a feeling she is always gonna get dirty quick as she love rooting througth the flower beds we have leaf compost and she seems to like going through the leaves!
Will she be going to the groomers for haircuts?
Mine get a good scrub with a hypoallergenic shampoo at the groomers every 8 weeks and I try to avoid bathing them in between as much as possible, although of course they don't make it easy!
Don't assume that a muddy dog must always be bathed, a lot of the time its better to let the mud dry then give them a thorough brush to get it out. It does mean white dogs are generally a funny shade of grey, and your house will be messier, but its better for the dogs skin than to be sticking them in the bath every 5 minutes. Especially a white dog like a Westie.0 -
yep think 6 weeks is our goal brush every day! avoid cow pats! lol0

Hi Kymrob,
Hope Betti is still a joy and she has managed to avoid said cowpats.
How did she get on with her health check up etc?
Hope she is still being a source of joy for you all, (I am sure she is).
Take care
