  • Yes. Where is it coming from? Have you met the mother and the owners in their home? Please don't buy one that's been bred in a puppy farm for your own sake.

You won't get any papers if it's not KC Reg, I don't think. Someone calling a puppy a pedigree doesn't make it so.

Just make sure you do your checks before you bring the puppy home and don't pay a premium for a dog from a non-reputable breeder. A friend of mine bought a dog from a (home) breeder but after the dog became ill, it turned out that the home was just a front and the puppy was from a puppy farm and is terrible health. I saw the pain it caused my friends and their daughter and I wouldn't wish that on anyone so please, check, double check and triple check everything before you take the dog home.
  • Other than that good luck with your puppy! It's an exciting event for anyone! Make sure you take him or her to the vets asap for a check up, flea treatments, worming, vaccinations etc. You can never be too careful.

What breed are you getting? Have the parents been health tested and have you seen their results.

It will only come with paper's if it's KC registered, and if it's not KC registered then you can't be sure of it's pedigree.

Good luck though and enjoy your puppy.

westie, mum looks really health, we have made a pact as a family if it does not feel right we are going to walk away! we have done once already. all been vet checked and have vet cards. i do over worry but this is such a big choice. i know all the things have to look for eye, ears bum ect ! wagging tail playfull ect. im quite good judging and will not get caught up in just buying one for the sake of it happy to drive away.
when it comes to kc reg so many people tell (friends) it dont matter as we dont wont to breed or show ect
