Hi all Gcers! Hope you are all well. I'm having another insomnia moment which is ok means I can come on here without wrestling with DS for the computer! Sunday was a naughty day, my friend took me out for a drink, and I couldn't let her pay for everything, plus a trip to the local shop I spent £16.05.....but on the brightside I spent absolutely zilch yesterday and aim to do the same today!
Right off to update signature, hope you all have a good day!August 13 NSD 4 /15.... /4 in a row!!!! Credit cards as of [STRIKE]13/4/12[/STRIKE] 31/07/12

Morning,
Today I have pulled out 4x apple and sage drizzled pork steaks YS £1.48, TTD maris piper double cream mashed potato, YS 15p, MRT finest thyme and port gravy YS 20p, YS sweet potato 29p previously mashed and cooked. 4x yorkshire puddings home made but frozen extras.
That is a very lazy dinner and should be nice. I have some white cabbage in the fridge that needs used up as well.
4x buns have also came out to butter to go with soup for lunch. Breakfast, we have pulled out croissants that I will butter.
Fruit again for snacks as we are still working through a mountain.
So lots will be used up today and nothing will go in as I am still not up to shopping.
I am off to catch up on the thread.
I hope everyone is well and has a low or no spend day. x£36/£240

Yes to add to the other voices, well done KatyReed - you should be very proud
.
£7 more spent yesterday, most of which was essential but did buy 2 x choc milkshakes for my youngest DS who was very upset at now having to wear glasses as he thinks everyone will laugh at him. It was worth it to cheer him up a little bit. I'm quite pleased though that I'm managing to only get essentials nearly every time I visit the SM
. Also, if my DH does go instead of me, he's always under strict instructions to only buy what he went in for (it doesn't always work, but he's getting much better
).

I am after any advice please. I have found a jar of Chicken Tonight cassarole sauce that was BB March 2011. I do use things out of date normally, but just wanted to check if you all thought that this would be safe to use. Also the sauce is for a Chicken Chassuer but I am making a sausage cassarole in the SC and am short on tomatoes, so thought I could just throw this in, what do you think?. Thanks for your help.£2015 in 2015 (Although actual goal is £10 a day)0

Aww. My DS had to start wearing glasses when he was 8, and thought the same thing. All his class soon got used to it and he isn't the only one. He doesn't think twice about it now.0 -
How do people here manage The GC budget with big stock-ups or when you see a great offer? I saw a very good offer (MrT Grana Padano, 3 for 2, works out at less than £9/Kg). We use tons of the stuff, but if I spend say £30 on it I go over budget, however if I buy it a piece at a time I end up paying 1/3 more. Dilemma.....
Edited to add, I also have a £5 off a £40 spend in MrT so it would be even a better bargain! I think I have talked myself into going over budget hehehe....Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi
have found a recipe for mushroom stroganoff, and I was wondering if I could freeze what will be left? I will be using creme fraiche rather than cream.

I've done really well this week! We went shopping after I finished work friday night and spent £29.12 on grocerys!
I know that I will need to spend a little more tonight on bread for lunch, as we have used more than expected, but I am happy with the result
Today I am doing an intermittent fast to help kick start my weight loss again, so not much money spent on food today!
Hope everyone is doing well, I've negleted posting, but I have been busy setting up my etsy shop!
Went for my wedding dress fitting yesterday, I decided last year I wanted a vintage wedding dress, and I fell in love with one, I knew it was too small at the time and so I'm losing weight. Thankfully it can be taken out by 3 and a half inches. I found out yesterday just how small it was, with a 23 inch waist!Weightloss: 18lbs/28lbs (Start weight: 11st, Current 9st 10)

You might want to have a look at the second purse thread Caterina (link at front of thread), it's a great way to build up good stocks of the stuff you use when it's cheap. I have been doing it since january and it really has helped my budgeting.April GC 9th-7th may £0/£3200
