AAARRGGHHH....my kids are eating me out of house and home!
I am REFUSING to buy anything barr eggs, milk and bread until our food shopping day on Friday, but the kids are just eating everything in sight!

Will have to do some baking, but need eggs and milk to do that, which means spending money.
If you live near an Asda you can do dessert for 4p for them. Greens creme brulees are 49p and lemon pie filling is 35p. Use 2 40p off vouchers and the free cream voucher and you have dessert for 8 people for just 4p.
Buy some of the squash for 29p and make ice lollies for them for a few p as well.
I will try to think of more cheap snacks for you. x

    Thanks soworried,
I dont have an asda near me, i only have a Tesco, the nearest asda/sainsburys/aldi are 20mmiles away, and the closest morrisons is 10miles away.

Asda do deliver here though, so any asda ideas are very gratefully received!

They are both 50p at Tesco so would cost you 10p.

    I can relate. :o
Another £32 spend at Aldi and Mr T most of which was not strictly necessary. Must be stronger. And not take kids shopping with me!
Almost entirely healthy stuff though which makes me feel a bit better.

Are those printable vouchers Soworried? My Mr T won't take them. : (

Am going to have a good search through the cake/biscuits on page 1 and see what i can make. Have £1.50 in cash on me, and am trying not to use the debit card, as i dont want my bank to be touched at all before Friday.

Are there are particular recipes that you all would recommend?

    Twinks hobnobs are great!

Ugh, supposed to be having 5 nsd's here, but that all gone to pot. I managed 3. Been to sainsbugs and spent £30. Only went for milk, but I have got myself a few storecupboard items for my winter prep box, and they had coke on bogof (tried own brand but yuk) and some loo roll.

Updated siggy. Will be trying to think of some cheap picnic food for fri as DS has got his girlfriend coming for a playdate, they are 3 lol. Her sister is coming too I think, so four kiddies in total.

Hmm, I have some flatbreads and grated cheese in the freezer, and probably some Tom sauce. I could make pizza quesadillas! Great finger food, easy to make. We could bake biscuits on Thursday, as well. Then I've got some writing icing and sprinkles, so they can decorate them, if they like.

    Sorted!

Also (in my inexperience with meat) I ordered a small 500g beef roasting joint thinking "how lovely, I can make my first ever roast beef dinner and 500g of meat is enough for two meals for the two of us (well I usually budget 100-125g each per serving) so it's not THAT pricey at £5" but of course it's arrived and it might be 500g but it just looks absolutely tiny, and I know they shrink when you cook them, so I'm pretty convinced that we will eat it all today I'll have spent £5 on meat for one meal *huffs*

Have you considered getting an electric meat slicer, I have had one for a while now and it is a godsend, as you can cut the meat so thinly, you seem to get so much more from any boneless joint, even from a joint that looks rather small.

    Just a suggestion
