Hope you had a lovely birthday craigywv :)

Lovely dinner Bluegreen - you can be Flo's stand in ;)

I have had a NSW :T I overspent last week so I'm adding last week and this week together in the hope that it will balance out a bit. I needed a few cleaning things and needed to restock the freezer with meat and other stuff, which is how I spent too much :o Anyway, the freezer is chocka block, so it should last a few weeks now. I'll only need to buy f&v and fridge food so that should make a difference. I'm too embarrassed to post my spends yet, so I'm waiting until I've done my weekly shop on Tuesday.

JJ - when we were on holiday I made some of your cheesy bread. I took my measuring cup (how sad is that!) 'cause I knew I only needed 1 cup of flour, a good dollop of marg, an egg and milk and a good grating of cheese - no scales needed! They came out lovely!

Well done:T. I always take a bag of flour, sugar, etc on holiday too.
(I can't take a holiday from cooking and baking as I enjoy it too much.)
Even in a caravan break, the aromas coming from our window are homely! Pies n crumbles are a staple for us;)

I'm just about to make up some individual egg custards with the greens packets that were 9p in Asda (using the 40p coupon on the coupon thread). If they work, I will take them to the B&Q woodwork class instead of the traditional jam doughnuts that I get from the local Tesco. It's a saving of £2 so it all helps the GC!!:T

Morning, I hope everyone is well.
I have taken out 2 chicken carcasses this morning to go in to the slow cooker to make a chicken and noodle soup for lunches. It is just starting to smell nice now. :)
My back is still in agony so I won't be shopping today. I wanted to shop as well for the free anchor cream but never mind. Thankyou for the voucher JJ. I also wanted to go to MrA to look at the country life butter. It is on for £1 with 50p cashback.
Dinner was meant to be chicken but with making the soup I don't want chicken again.
I think we might just have cheese and red onion omlettes with a salad or a jacket potato.
Snacks will just be fruit as we have a mountain of it needing used up.

I hope you had a lovely birthday craigwv. x

Oh dear, spent over £43 yesterday, but it was budgeted for the party, pakoras and some more wine. Got lots of frozen pakoras now and a few bottles of wine, other people also brought bottles and food to share, so we should be back on course with a NSD today.

DH is going to ask for next Friday off for our NSW/end, it will be an interesting challenge to go to central London, art galleries etc with a flask and a picnic, no stops at Starbugs! I also still have 3 free cinema tickets with my Picturehouses membership so we can also go to the cinema. Wow, looking forward to it, although I suppose the most part will be spent at the allotment, weeding :-(
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

My budget took a battering again yesterday. £8.70 in B0dycare on toiletries (mainly for DH) and £5.94 in B00ts on eye make up remover and a meal deal for DH. He wanted an energy drink at £2 so got a triple sandwich and a packet of crisps for £3.49 total.

I now have £45.87 to last me 16 days or 2 weekends. It is going to be a struggle especially as I have run out of soap powder and don't have a huge amount of meat in the freezer.:(

I will have to pop to Mr S on the way home tonight to get a loaf of bread. I am using up the GF rolls I have in the freezer until my prescription bread order comes through which will probably be next week.

As DH has scoffed the ham I am having to use my imagination to think of things for lunches this week. Cooked a C&O quiche I got free last night for DH dinners for the next 2 days and will bake a couple of spuds to have with cheese/tuna and I have plenty of eggs/cheese/tuna for sandwiches and baked beans. I also have a tin of tomato soup but may rustle up a GF cheese and sausage quiche for my lunches. Actually there is loads when I write it down like that.:)

I mentioned to a friend a couple of months ago that I was horrified that our food spending had got out of control and that we had spent £740 and I was making an effort to reduce it. She said she didn't have a clue what they spent (family of four). When I saw her yesterday she said that after our conversation she had spoken to her DH and they had made a note of what they spent the following month and it was £700! :eek:She was in shock. I should tell her about MSE:money:

Chicken curry for tea tonight, already made and sat in the fridge:)
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

I'm so late to the thread  £18 spent so far but off to the shops soon. Can I be down for £80 this month again please? I will be under! I will! I will! I will!

OH didn't do much damage to the budget while I was away for a few days but he did leave the electric water heater on for two days straight. I could cry, it will have cost us so much money.
He insisted on cooking dinner for me last night to make up for being an !!!!!! last week and butchered macaroni cheese. It was so awful and not at all cheesy, it was overcooked pasta in a lumpy, floury paste with frozen mussels mixed in. The kitchen was then an absolute state and took countless reminders for him to sort it out. How hard is it to wipe up spills and throw rubbish in the bin as you go? I am sick of cleaning up after him, picking up his litter and dirty washing strewn across the place

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
AAARRGGHHH....my kids are eating me out of house and home!
I am REFUSING to buy anything barr eggs, milk and bread until our food shopping day on Friday, but the kids are just eating everything in sight!

Will have to do some baking, but need eggs and milk to do that, which means spending money.
