Thank you everyone for your kinds words, i do not deserve them honestly, it's just life,
Today was a very money spending day. Took the youngest 3 ( oldest 2 at their mums this week ) and my nephew to the zoo, a 35 minute drive away, and we bought a years pass, it cost £100, but we can go as many times as we like now and never have to pay again, YAY. Also spent £18.37 in sainsbobs, but took £3.10 off with a coupon, as we had no picnic food at home, also got a few YS rolls that are now in the freezer. Had a lovely day although it rained, a lot, we had raincoats and wellies on and did a lot of puddle splashingAlso £17.50 spent in the gift shop on the way out, it's so hard to say no sometimes, but i guess with all this saving a little treat for the kids every now and again doesn't hurt
Also then had a Dominos for dinner ( i've been craving it for ages ), me and 3 kiddies plus my sister, her boyfriend and my nephew, we had an order of just shy of £50.00, my sister had a 50% off voucher which bought it down to £24.48, then she gave me £14 towards it, so none to bad really, and i've got leftovers in the fridge for tomorrow,
Hoping to have a NSD tomorrow, if it stays dry we may go to the local Maize Maze that i also have a season ticket for, we can use up the rest of the left over picnic stuff then.

Katy- you must live near me if you are going to the Maize maze
I drive past the signs for it on the way to the bridge

I did a gorgeous piece of roast pork on Friday, and was going to put the rest in the freezer, but have only just remembered I haven't done it! Will it be ok to freeze now?
TIA

Well, I have done the weekly shopping today, and my total so far for this month (2 weeks) is£199.46
But on the plus side I have had 4 NSDs. My freezer is bursting at the seams, and the fridge and cupboards are full too. I printed 3 Asda vouchers last night, and there were extra vouchers for £2 off Bold 2 in 1 washing powder 3.6kg. When I checked the price in the store, it was £8.49 - I usually spend £3 on liquid wash and dilute it, and it lasts me 2 or 3 weeks, so I left the vouchers on top of the boxes on the shelf in case someone else wanted them! My shop no longer accepts vouchers for stuff you haven't bought.:(
I saw packs of 9 Triple Velvet toilet rolls in Superdrug today for £2.99. I thought it wasn't a bad price, but don't NEED any so I left them. These mantra things get into your head at the most annoying times
When is Flo back from holiday?

Evening everyone! I've been Very Naughty today. I went in the SM on the way home when I didn't even need anything at all. And I spent £4.51, argh. But it was all whoopsies so I got just over a tenner's worth of stuff for it.
I really must not buy any more whoopsied things for practically forever now, as there is NO ROOM in the freezer!again at my perpetual delusion that I have a freezer with elastic sides.

Thanksmy DS is 12 and children can be really horrible at that age. He's saying he's not going to wear them (even though they look really lovely and very cool) but I suppose it depends how bad his sight gets. I got to the stage where I just couldn't see without mine and then I had to wear them, despite my vanity
(well I was 16!).
How do people here manage The GC budget with big stock-ups or when you see a great offer? I saw a very good offer (MrT Grana Padano, 3 for 2, works out at less than £9/Kg). We use tons of the stuff, but if I spend say £30 on it I go over budget, however if I buy it a piece at a time I end up paying 1/3 more. Dilemma.....
Edited to add, I also have a £5 off a £40 spend in MrT so it would be even a better bargain! I think I have talked myself into going over budget hehehe....
Could you possibly put a certain amount by each week e.g. £5 or £10 depending on your overall budget to pay for great offers? If you don't see any that week, it will build up so that you have enough for bigger offers when they come along. Personally I think it's worth getting really good offers when they are on even if you go over budget though because it saves you money in the long run.helen_jelly wrote: »Evening everyone

Very good idea Mrs Addicted To Spending, thank you, I need to budget for long term spends. I Think I really need to do the GC for a year to have a full picture.
Unfortunately after my weekly shop and lovely bargains yesterday my fridge (very old) died. So now I have to do a cooking marathon, freeze all I can and keep other perishables in the picnic cool box with the freezer blocks, until we find a replacement. What a nuisance, and more money pouring out just as I am trying to get to grips with saving more.
Going on Freecycle hoping to find a free fridge as an interim measure until we decide what to do, we are thinking of getting a tall fridge freezer because bending down to get stuff out of he small one was taking its toll in my back and knees. But we want to do our research first and not rush in and get something overpriced just because we are in an emergency! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
