£46.23 spend on a big shop at Ald* today, mostly because I've never been there before and wanted to try quite a few different things to see if we liked them. I resisted chocolate at least!0

My August shopping month started on 27th July and so far I have spent £30.25 in L!dl, £9.98 at Aldy and £14.55 in Tesco. Some of this was for snacks and food to take away when we go camping so I'm ok with spending this much in Week 1. August is going to be a target of £200 for me again. Good Luck to everyone for this month. Back to watching the Olympics now........ x0

Thanks to everyone's help on this thread, I have managed to cut my food bill by £60 a month, just by lurking for six months. I doubt I'll be able to keep up with the thread, but none the less, I'd like to join with a budget of £150 month.Better is good enough.0

ok back from shopping, didn't use my voucher as they didn't have the price news books in and without the deals from them and offers i didn't really need enough to warrant spending £20, i spent £8.45 but for that i got
2 2litre bottles of fanta (for hubby to take away with 2
2 12packs of walkers crisps (for hubby to take away with him
4 pack of crunchies (for hubby to take away with him bar one for me
4 pack of cadburys caramel (for hubby to take away with him bar one for me)
2 litres of milk
a loaf of bread
12 value bread rolls
bag of sr flour
went to the farm shop for spuds and they didn't have any big sacks, there small bags are really expensive so i got none, problem is this was on the way home so now i have no spuds and no frozen chips, so dinner tonight will be pizza and garlic bread instead, tomorrow will be spag bol and planned and wed will be bol in pittas, so really i don't need spuds til thur anyway
off now to have a big tidy upDEC GC £463.67/£450

Hi All
I have done my first shop and have 97.25 left so spent 52.75/150 and with 4 potential shopping days left (if I go on thursdays, if can eek til Sundays then it'll only be 3) that gives me just under 25 a week which is average for me.
Based on last month this is do-able so fingers crossed.
I have bought myself a slow cooker and once I have defrosted and cleaned the freezer out I will be using the SC to stock it up for the coming winter. Plan on making double so 1 for freezer.
In order to do this I will be using the meat from the freezer and not buying any more until it's all gone (bar sandwich meat). This should help prepare for the winter and keep the colder month's costs down.
Thanks to all who contribute.
