Yes there are kids who try to do the right things for the right reasons - but there are also nasty little teacher's pets who love nothing more than snitching to get everyone else told off. Great way to get the drama they crave while looking whiter than white themselves.
I'm sorry but this post makes you come across as a really unpleasant person.

So, we tar them all with the same brush?

It really is no wonder bullies thrive if that is how adults view kids who take information to a teacher and so allow an adult to look at a situation rather than do nothing.

No I'm not trying to tar her with anything. I said that in my post, that we have no idea what category she is in, what her motive was, even what exactly she saw & said to the teacher. We know nothing at all about her or her part in the situation.

I brought up kids that enjoy cliping because every class seems to have one and often teachers think this kid is great, when in reality she enjoys seeing others get grief while looking innocent herself.

And I definitely don't want adults to look the other way and do nothing - I mean I was bullied by my entire form in lessons while numerous teachers supposedly saw and heard nothing! What should be happening is teachers finding out what really happened, not just taking a 3rd party's word for it.

Unless any of us knows C personally, we have no idea.

Sorry, can't work that bit out, it is probably obvious but I am a bit tired!!

Unless you feel a teacher cannot be trusted to make the right decision what difference does it make what her motives were? The child is not responsible for what comes after, the teacher made the call. Better that she mentioned the issue than not, regardless of intent.

"Cliping"? I'm sure it's a typo but what do you mean?

Not sure how widespread it is, but here in Glasgow it was the word we used for a telling tales :) Pronounced "clyping", a tell-tale is a "clype" (or "clipe", I'm not sure which) :)

Sorry, it must be a local word. Cliping is telling tales, either true or false, purely to get others in trouble.

It's a Scottish word that means 'telling on someone'.

I often used to tell my brother 'I'm going to clipe on you if you do that to me again'. Much to my Mother's chagrin. :D

Why, because I know, having learnt through experience at an early age, that some kids ARE capable of being that devious, and that some adults are easily manipulated by them?

Or because I don't like seeing innocent people getting into trouble because of someone else's lies? (I'm talking about my own schooldays here, not OPs story or any of the kids in it) If that makes me unpleasant, make me a badge & I'll wear it with pride.

It seems blatantly obvious to me that child B's intentions were to play a nasty trick on child A. I mean really, why else would you do something like that?

Of course the invite wouldnt look genuine if its been made by a 9 year old girl, it doesnt mean ill intention wasnt there.

Having been a 9 year old girl and having quite succinct memories of the playground antics of 9 year old girls, how anyone could think it wasnt intentionally malicious is beyond me.

    Nasty little child.

Children are certainly no innocent angels but I do feel that saying "nasty little teacher's pets who love nothing more than snitching" is a very harsh way to refer to 9 year olds.
