For those who don't have a laptop case, there is a nice Antler one in Currys. I actually saw it for sale in red as well for £24.99 in one store I was in. However, I already have one, but for those looking for a nice one this could be it:

It looks nice, but according to the Product Overview on the site it only seems to be for 14" laptops. :(

I don't recall there being an option to change the operating system when I ordered mine. Someone here helpfully provided a link to where the XP version is though, so I think you might have to wade through the thread to find it unless someone re-posts it for you. I couldn't find the XP version by just searching for it on the Dell site, & other people had trouble too.

I've been having exactly the same problem, glad i'm not alone - I put it down to it being my first laptop and the fact i'm not the most advanced computer person! I'd appreciate any advice on how to sort it out. I havent spoken to dell about it yet, and given the bank holiday I guess i'm stuck till tuesday now.

Pleased its not just me then. Im expecting a call tomorrow from Dell, even tho it is bank holiday thats when she said they would phone. She phones me up to see if im happy with it and i keep having issues with various things so when she phoned me Friday i should have phoned support and got a number then shes going to get another system sent out. I cant remember how she said it works, think they send new when they collect the old one. I dont really have one big major issue but a few little ones. I have a 'page up' button that sounds like it has an air bubble or something underneath it, im not sure about my screen image, i regularly get the internet explorer error message, my lid catch seems loose and my subscores differ to the other system i got at the same time.

So its not because youre unadvanced or anything, i would try giving them a call tomorrow as they dont seem to work with our holiday rules. As i said, shes phoning tomorrow and she also phoned good friday.

I just want to be sure that if they do send me another that it will be the same price as this, although she said it would be a straight swap so no money involved.

Hi, I've just got round to playing around with my new 1501 and found a buzzing noise from the speaker whenever any sound is output? e.g when someone logs on to msn, I get the 'ding' sound + a buzzing noise.

    Has anyone had this problem?

    Cheers,

    Nick.

Is it something I should have received in the form of a card or is it fitted inside the laptop.

    It is the latter.
