i just uninstalled all the clutterware from my 640m, and it running fine, no need for a fresh install of vista home premium

what new drivers are out for it?

oh for those of you with shared video memory (intel 950), can you change the amount of memory that is being shared for the video? or is it all auto?

What have you done to sort it out or can anyone tell me whats doing it. Happens multiple times daily now and getting very annoying. I had another phone from Dell earlier today to see if i am yet happy with the system (have had a couple of other calls before and due to various reasons wasnt happy so discussed and then said would call back again). She said they will send me another one if thats what i want to do, im not sure what to do though.

Couldn't get the Netgear modem with router locally, so ended up with a MicraDigital one. It says it's a Belkin on the underside - had I known that beforehand, I'd have looked for a Belkin manual as the MicraDigital one isn't very good.

Anyway, it's now working - I had to get an adapter for my desktop pc which didn't have a wireless setup, but after a fair bit of tinkering with the settings & a good number of reboots, all seems to be well. I can use one machine to see & edit files I need on the other, & I can print wirelessly from the laptop though it's in a different room - feels really odd to do that. :) My laptop's internet access is through the desktop pc, but is so quick that I don't notice any problem when both machines are in use at the same time on different sites. I've also put a short cut to all my MS software in the shared file, & that means I can use them on the laptop without having the big install & cost to deal with. I love the machine, & it's much more comfortable to sit typing in the couch than to sit in the study at a very unforgiving desk. :D

Ok well I mite try Firefox..

Did anyone use the Easy Transfer option to move things from their old laptop ?

If so where is a good place to get the Easy Transfer Cable it mentions ?
    Easy Transfer Cable

An Easy Transfer Cable is a special USB cable that is designed to work with Windows Easy Transfer by creating a direct link between your old PC and your new PC. Using one of these cables is the easiest and fastest method for transfer and particularly recommended if you don't have access to a network. Easy Transfer cables will transfer data from PCs running Windows XP or Windows Vista to a PC running Windows Vista.

Has anyone else had a problem with the DVD region? If so, have you just selected to change its region?

Yes I just changed it, problem solved. I'm not very technical and have been away so it's a week since I did it but it took me a moment to decide what to do with it.
