Fry up some chopped bacon and onion until nicely golden, add a handful of frozen peas and cook for a couple of minutes then stir in some cream or sour cream. Serve with pasta - yumThat man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest. Henry David Thoreau0

I fry chopped bacon and chicken or turkey with a good pinch of dried chilli, then stir in a blob of soft cheese. Then I turn off the heat and when it has cooled a bit add a big dollop of yoghurt (you have to wait for it to cool quite a bit or the yoghurt splits). I use this as a sauce with pasta. The yoghurt takes the fieriness out of the chilli so that you get a dish that is mouth-wateringly flavoursome but not mouth-burningly hot. I make this quite often because it is so quick and simple and I find the taste quite addictive.0

Hi ashli,
We have a very recent thread on using up bacon that should help you so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.
There are also lots more ideas on this older thread: What to do with bacon offcuts

Hi
As the title suggests I'm after some inspiration as to what to do with my packet of bacon that I need to use up ?
I have 10 rashers to use tonight (there's only 2 of us!!) I have the usual store cupboard stuff in but just cant think past 'Eggs & Bacon' which isn't really a healthy dinner....
Suppose I could stick some in some pasta but what sort of sauce?
Any other ideas of what I can do with it?:j Mortgage Free!! )Generally trying to cut back where possible :j0 -
What about Pasta Carbonara or a Quiche Lorraine or cook some of the bacon to the crispy stage and boil a couple of eggs.Chop the bacon and eggs together with a little mayonnaise and you've got sandwich filler for tomorrows lunch too

I'd put half of it with pasta, in a tomato and chilli sauce (dead simple tin of tomatoes, black pepper and some chilli flakes) you don't need to add salt as the bacon will add saltiness, just let it reduce while the pasta is cooking, then I'd put the other half in a casserole with loads of different veg, carrots, swede, potato, celery etc. butternut squash is great in this and chilli flakes an be used again to give it some really nice heat.0

Inspired by a recipe in the Gordon Ramsay Fast Food book, I make a pasta sauce with leek, chopped bacon and chestnut mushrooms - mix it into cooked pasta with some creme fraiche and black pepper and it's yum. (The Gordon Ramsay version uses pancetta rather than bacon.
It freezes well in portions, too, and can be reheated in the microwave from frozen.Operation Get in Shape

Great Stuff!
Thanks for your ideas - The Quiche idea has reminded me of the filo pastry I brought as it was on offer and also needs using so think i'll use half the bacon to make a quiche for tomorrows lunch- Two Birds, One Stone
And the other half with some pasts and tomatoe sauce for tonights dinner
Thanks to all of you:j Mortgage Free!! )Generally trying to cut back where possible :j0
