What to do with bacon

Chopped bacon fried with (green/savoy) cabbage is yum.
Ainsley Harriot has a really nice recipe for pasties filled with bacon, beans, onion and cheese - and a drop of tabasco sauce! The recipe calls for streaky but we always just use normal bacon.
Chicken breasts filled with cheese and wrapped with bacon is also a real treat in our house - particularly if we've got a spot of blue cheese left over, although any chees will do.
Or an all-day-breakfast for a really naughty evening meal!0 -
Chopped bacon and peas in a Tom sauce on spaghetti. Simple and tasty :-)0

I like bacon in pasta salads or salads with chicken sometimes.
Cheese and bacon is a nice one, just cook bacon under grill (I can't stand fried bacon, the fat goes yukkkk) and thrown some cheese on top when nearly done, my nan used to make this for me when I was little yummy!0 -
for my lunch today I made cabbage and bacon. (usually its a side dish but I do like it for lunch too).
just shred your cabbage while you sweat a bit of onion in the frying pan and put your bacon bits in and fry them off till cooked to how you like it. then add your shredded cabbage (I used a quarter of a savoy left over from lunch yesterday) and fry until its cooked al dente. or however you prefer it. season with salt and pepper and if you like add a knob of butter.
yummy!
I have made this with all kinds of cabbage - and it works well every time - I sometimes add some crushed garlic just before the cabbage goes in.0 -
If you just leave it in the fridge (I put mine into a plastic box) it will last for quite a time - easily a week or two.
If you feel you must use it up I would cook it all and use in crumbled up over all sorts of other dishes.
As well as the ones already mentioned I crumble some into any mince dishes that I'm making - it adds a lovely flavour.
Too much bacon? Never!

had to stay late at work, 4 slices of bacon frozen together, should have taken them out hours ago, any quick way to defrost?
haven't got a microwave, could I run under water or cook from frozen without poisoning us??LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
I stick it under the grill on a low light until I can separate it & then grill it as normal.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Bowl of warm water'd work too0

If you put it in a freezer bag the put it under cold running water the top layers will deforst enough to seperate but sperating half way through cooking will be fine just aslong as every piece of meat is hot before serving.0
