I'm actually going to delete the photos now. Not because I'm concerned about who may see them, but because I don't really want any further discussions on whether or not my daughter is overweight, which was not the point of this thread!0

I would never in a million years put photos of my children on this website, in a swimsuit or otherwise. It's not just to protect their privacy, it's to protect my own, and it's completely different from putting photos on Facebook. OP - millions of people read this site everyday and there is a huge chance that some of them are your family, friends or even mums from school whose children are friends with yours and will recognise them and be able to identify you. You have now given them the opportunity to read every aspect of your life, your financial position, your views and beliefs. You will have to be careful what you write from now on as you will never be sure who is tracking your posts. I just can't believe you have voluntarily given up your privacy and anonymity for the sake of getting opinions on such a strange subject.
BTW your children are gorgeous and perfect.
Exactly. Quite unbelievable. And that's without the swimwear shots. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

It's definitely for the best. Make sure you ask the posters who have copied the photos in their quotes to delete them too.0 -

Glad that the pictures are being deleted but others have quoted them. If you don't want to discuss your daughter's weight then why is the thread title overweight/underweight child.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Because I'm stating as a FACT that DD is overweight (evidence: BMI too high, bigger than other children her age, needs to size up in clothes, visually evident) and its a FACT that DS is underweight (evidence: BMI too low, still hungry after eating, visually evident)
I wasn't asking or intending to discuss whether they were under/overweight. I was saying that they are, and asking how to deal with an issue in relation to that. It wouldn't be an issue if they had the same genetic makeup/build, but since they don't, then it is.0 -
As they are similar ages I think the idea of giving him full fat milk and her semi or skimmed is a good idea. Also, if you send them to school with a banana for breaktime will the youngest be given an additional piece of fruit? Our school gives free fruit to reception and year 1.
Out of interest, not yr 2? I thought it was for all the infants? I may be wrong, but I have assumed that reception, yr 1 and yr 2 get the fruit. Esp as it would look unfair on yr 2 when they are sharing the playground.0 -
Don't let the negative posts get you down Jody, I for one think it is extremely good parenting to keep an eye on your children's weight. As others have said and overweight child is likely to become an overweight adult with all the health problems etc that can bring.
Have you considered keeping DD's food intake as it is but enrolling her in a few after school classes?
I know from age 10 I ate more than my Dad  and still eat more than my OH who is now on a diet poor soul!
Good luck with it x0 -
OP I have quoted a photo, would you like me to delete my post?0
