hair extensions :rotfl: yes really! You get what you pay for and the best hair looks a million times better than cheaper stuff and lasts so much longer. My hair is already long but sometimes I want to look like I just happen to have naturally thick gorgeous hair. I like to think of it as an investment.
Everything else I will haggle to the death for and never pay full price!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Bread, I love nice crusty bread, not interested in yesterdays, got to be freshly baked, preferably from an independant bakery, lovelymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Shoes for the littlies, have to be brand new Clarks or Startrite for their main pair at least, don't mind party shoes/slippers/wellies/crocs being cheaper (Next sale usually). About half of their clothes i get from charity shops/ebay/car boots, the rest is sales.
Shoes for me too, as i have FM and have a lots of joint problems so i need a good supportive pair of shoes, again usually picked up in the sales. Also the only jeans that fit me perfectly are River Island ones which i buy in the sale or on ebay.
Hubby has his season ticket which i think is a complete waste (they're c**p!) but he sees it as essential, as i do my annual treat of a splurge in the Cath Kidston sale

meat and fish. I get the freshest fish from cornwall and an organic meat box
and kitchen equipment, my mil used to say `buy cheap buy twice` so now I have very sturdy, efficient and long lasting equipment. Take my green life juicer, it cost a lot but is over 30 years old and regularly used. I learnt the hard way that she was right0 -
Holidays! For the past four years I have been hoarding the savings I have made by being Old Style to pay for holidays. We've been to the Caribbean twice and the Canaries three times in that time. To us it has been worth every penny!
We have an existing thread along the same lines:

Good quality meat, fish, eggs, fruit and veg.
Poor quality meat and fish tastes terrible and is often unethical.
Poor quality fruit and veg are not worth eating, you may as well drink water! I have frequently seen Aldi held up as a good place to buy fruit and veg on here. The only time I went to investigate the possibility my local Aldi had lemons and limes with fungus growing all over them!
Needless to say I didn't buy my SuperSix!0 -

Have to confess to a few things really :-
1. Emma Bridgewater stuff I collect it and have it on my dresser. When she discontinues stuff the items shoot up in price so if I want to sell it at a later date then the price goes up at least by half as much again so in the long term I don't financially lose out and I take satisfaction in seeing and using it.
2. Sky TV couldn't do without it.
3. Free range fresh eggs. Ethically produced meat which we get from a special award winning butchers.
4. The horses - we don't scrimp with them at all and the dogs food as well we make no compromise. They are an expense but I call them my fag and beer moneyCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
