Buying designer clothes (mainly Jacques Vert and Frank Usher) from Ebay. It's still OS in a way, because I've bought trouser suits from as little as 99p! When new they were £200!! Trouble is, I've got a wardrobe full, but can't resist when it's only 99p.

    Boden is mine!!

Tumble drier throughout most of the winter. Luxury....

And the second car all year round. I'd kill my OH if I had to share a car with him. Plus 90% of the kids' extra-curricular activities need a car to get to and OH doesn't get home till 9pm much of the time.

Forgive me fellow OS-ers but I have sinned...

I buy a certain antipodean posh shampoo at £3.67 a 300ml bottle, the matching conditioner at another £3.67 for just 250ml this time and the 3 minute hair rescue treatment at £5.10 a 250ml bottle too.

My eyes have been opened to the truth that I am paying £12.22 a litre for shampoo, £14.70 a litre for conditioner and £20.40 for hair rescue stuff and that I am truly a terrible OS sinner. Tales of 22p a litre value shampoo, 48p a litre value conditioner and fresh eggs to spruce up knackered hair have not inspired me to walk the path of the righteous either.

I am a sinner unrepentant and shameless (long live posh shampoo).

    Your turn!
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

    Hi Hannah,

You aren't alone! Old Style is not a competition and there are no rulse so we all take from it what we want. :)

As there's an existing thread on Old Style things some of us prefer not to compromise on I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

  • Oh gosh, loads of things! I am possibly the least Old Style person ever (yet!):

I get my hair cut at the salon
I buy Yorkshire Tea (everything else tastes like dishwater, I like a strong brew!) and Mcvitie's chocolate digestives
I buy posh shampoo/skincare/shower gel (see my stash in the No More Toiletries challenge!)

There are probably loads more but I can't think of them off the top of my head...

My confession is that sometimes I like to have takeaways - not the cook at home stuff but actually from the shop - costs about £25 a time for the 4 of us. But I do insist on cooking my own rice!! Also have second car, but always use the smallest one.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Yeah, but cheap shampoo takes the skin off your scalp! At least if you know it's pricy, you only squeeze out a bit and wait for it to be on offer. Value shampoo is squirted all over the place!

Mine's Gabor shoes. I can't stand my feet hurting and Gabor are wide enough for my extremely wide feet. Sometimes.

I buy frozen mash. I need to stop because it contains milk and I'm trying to be vegan, but potatoes are my enemy. So delicious to eat, so hard to carry home from the shop, keep from sprouting, peel and cook!
