We have a dishwasher and a tumble dryer... the dishwasher is on every single day (full!) - I couldn't do without it!

The tumble dryer is not used much now, as most things are on the airer/radiators. I wasn't able to hang anything out last summer cos of the weather; and the dryer is great for bedding and towels (that don't fit on airers or radiators).

OH has an XBox360 and a Live subscription - he uses it a lot, and I don't mind. It's his way of destressing from his horrid job. I go out and garden and walk the dogs, he plays shooty-shooty games

I'm another one that loves my dishwasher! I also wash lights/whites on 60 degrees and always have done. Our clothes, towels & tea towels etc are really bright & sparkling and they last for ages so I use that as my environmental bit - I don't replace them that often. I buy biological washing powder when it's on offer & stock up, currently Daz lemon & lime as it's been on offer recently.
  • Hmm we have the laptop as well as the PC. OH uses the PC for his game/music related geeking and the laptop is mine all mine (well he paid for it but ho hum!:p ) and it means I can sit looking at the lovely views from our upstairs living room and still surf and go on the OS board!

Our real weakness is going on nice holidays and staying in good hotels but we're making the most of our child free years before camping becomes the only option! and we do use laterooms a lot so get some really good deals...:o

Don't have a dishwasher or TD but think that also may change when little ones arrive...but hey at least we'll be saving money on all the holidays and meals out we can no longer have!:rotfl:

I have a Lovefilm subscription - can't really afford it so much since I lost my job in Dec but then again I do not ever go out and socialise and I am on a 3 disc at a time plan and I watch them and send them back the next day so can squeeze about 20 -30 a month if not more discs from them.

I have been trying not to buy magazines but I occasionally slip. It is easier over Xmas as the Jan (and now even the Feb issues these days) issues tend to be thin and contentless with loads of ads in.I will however continue to buy Sainsburys at only £1.40 as it has loads in both as a read and for cooking and you often get good offers and comps.I tend to let my guard down with Oprahs mag but then again there is no UK one like it and is a several days read..

32" LCD TV, but this was a present and my Xbox360, couldn't live without either

Had a wii but gave it to our niece and nephew as for christmas as my SIL couldn't afford to get them one.

No dishwasher, there's only two of us so I don't see the point, plus we haven't got the room, same goes for a tumble drier

I've got my old HUGE tv in our room, for when OH's watching something I don't like, so I slip in there to watch CSI on DVD

Couldn't be without my PC either, looking at getting a laptop so I can have the internet while OH is playing on his WW2 game

  • Lol I have stopped and looked around my house and there are waaaaaay to many things for me to list!

I have never actually thought about how many of these things probably arent 'essentials' Like the plasma TV's (yup more than one!), the surround sound. The wii, PS3 and various other computer things. Ummmm the Sky+ upstairs and downstairs. The carpet cleaner that was miracuously supposed to clean and dry the carpets. Wont even go there with the things in our kitchen. And now that I think about it Im guessing the fact that OH got all our lights linked up to a remote control so I can turn them on from my car before coming into the house probably is a bit OTT.

*hangs head and goes to scrub carpet OS way* :rotfl:
Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!
  • I think my biggest guilty pleasure is the tumble dryer. It is used too much. But with working and 4 sporty boys, I find it hard to keep up with the volume of washing.

We have quite a other things that could be regarded as conspicous consumption but they are all paid for, no credit.

I have a lady that cleans once a week. To avoid me being a cranky cow, I view this as a necessity.

We have a Lovefilm subscription too - we watch 5 or 6 films a week, so really get our money's worth out of it (our local rental shop is v. expensive!)
  • I have a TD, but I don't use it, otherwise the lodgers would have it on 24/7, I have a dishwasher that goes on every day, I wouldn't be without it.
I'd also have a huge tv if we could afford it as it would be easier for Hubby to watch.

Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.
  • I have a dishwasher but must confess I only use that once a week.I find washing dishes very soothing and actually enjoy it.
I don't use my tumble dryer more than three or four times a year.It has to be a real emergency.I just love line dried washing and realy enjoy pegging it out.
I have a hoover upstairs and downstairs and even a brand new one in the loft(still in the box).I just hate the thought of not having a working one.
I have a very expensive range cooker,I could of got one cheaper to be honest but I just loved this one.I do enjoy using it though and I'm getting my money's worth from it.
I think if I had to admit it,my one weakness is clothes.I have so many and buy something every week.I feel quite embarrassed owning up to it.Makes me seem so shallow and I'm not honestly.
I do like Aerial /Daz/Bold/Persil and use loads of Comfort/Lenor but otherwise I'm very OS.
We all have to have some indulgences I suppose or life would'nt be worth living.
