umm let me see
Ready meals but normally only when reduced. Put them in then freezer for my husband. He might have one a week if that.
Instant & frozen mash, I can't mash with out lumps. But my mum did get me a ricer which I have not tried yet.
Bisto Cheese sauce in a tub.
The reason being is my husband is disabled and it makes him have a more normal life because he can nuke the frozen mash and can make the cheese sauce and instant mash from boiling the kettle. I do let him do that :rotfl:
And I know that he is then getting something hot during the day when I am at work.
I do use jar pasta sauce only the value brand as the more expensive ones I just don't like the taste.
I don't feel guilty about as it makes our life easier. It is not like we live off ready meals all the time. And we can afford it so it is not something that I am going in to debt for.
Yours

Spending money on copious quantities of peanuts and wild bird seed for the squirrels and birds who visit our garden. But we no longer have a cat now, so I kid myself that our spending on animal feed has merely been transferred. And watching them gives us a great deal of pleasure without venturing out and spending money elsewhere, so that basis our spending is "neutral".0

OK, we can't be OS all the time. Let's confess about some of the consumer items we don't really need but make our lives easier/more pleasurable. Mine are:
A second TV in the bedroom (OH and I have differing viewing preferences)
Two vacuum cleaners (one downstairs, one upstairs) to avoid lugging a heavy weight up the stairs).
Two pressure cookers (both 40 years old, the second one being kept for obsolete "spares").
I could probably think of others but think three sins is enough for one day!0 -
My dishwasher! I practically begged OH for it after having my DD. It's a god send!Love and compassion to all x0

Boodle - yes you've just triggered my memory for that one too. But if I have a cup of tea or plate for a snack and OH isn't around, I often find myself rinsing them under the tap and leaving them to drain on the draining board. (luckily we don't have a water meter - yet ) (Well done for keeping within your grocery budget this week. Put the change in your "treats" money box !)0

I have a very large fridge
It's like one of those American fridge-freezers but there's no freezing compartment just fridge. I like being able to get at everything without having to move stuff around or pile things on top of each other. There are 5 of us and we get through loads of milk so it's always full.
Also (very embarrased about this) I'm a devil for washing stuff under a running hot tap.0 -
2 PCs
DH and I both play online games at times and we decided that since we dont go out all that often that it wasn't an extravagence. (I know it was really)
I would love a dishwasher so much but don't have the excuse that it is more efficient for water savings as we dont have water rates as such in Scotland
Ohhh I forgot my TD..now that in my mind is a necessity..I hate radiators covered with dripping clothes.
Also reado through some of the posts, I forgot OH's boy toys like Sky and his 42" TV0 -
We have a 40" plasma TV, a Sky subscription and a Wii. Not very OS, but OH works hard for his money and this is what he chooses to spend his 'discretionary' money on!0
