I love my sewing machine, don't use it anywhere near as much as I ought to, but it's saved my bacon on a number of occasions. Which reminds me, I really must go through all my patterns again - I'm sure there's more I should be doing with it. Well done Cally :D

crazyhazy, that's an impressive breakdown, keep up the great work! I think I shall have to look into selling on Amazon, I have a house full of books gathering dust :o thanks for the idea.

Any saving I make will be virtual as shower has broken down - spare part has not arrived - cannot contact plumber - have four daughters who are not happy!

Hall floor is dug up as tiles are being replaced - they sent wrong ones - still waiting for word from them - feel really chaotic and at everyones mercy - fed up - and only MSE helps cheer me up.

Every time I try to save something either breaks down or a daughter has a growth spurt and needs new clothes- if I hear one more mother boasting she can get two years of wear out of kids clothes - I will scream:(:(:(

Aww you poor devil, is it one of those weeks? It will pass, they always do, I do understand what you mean though, it feels awful not to be in control of a situation.

    Thanks moggins
It is nice to know it is not just me:eek:

I think it is the fact that as I am at home everyone expects me to know what is happening and I feel as if I cannot even go out in case tiles or plumber turns up.

I know it will be worth it eventually but things are so slow they are practically in reverse.

Oh elona, I know exactly how you feel hun comfort.gif

I've had one of those weeks (well month really) and so stressed I'm at breaking point and the slightest little thing sets me off in floods of tears :(

It's only reading these boards that's keeping me this side of insane and also a great distraction from everything else going on :o

Hope things start to look up for you very soon :)

    Thanks Curry Queen

I have started to cheer up already :)

The fact that someone else understands how frustrating it can be to be "in limbo" helps a lot.

Don't worry, there kids will have to grow sometime and yours will probably have slowed down by then - then you can get your revenge ;)

I read a really good quote on somebodys signature recently it said 'A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort' :D

I like the quote "Smile - it makes people wonder what you are up to!"

    :T

Am rapidly cheering up and stopping feeling such a miserable old bat :o

I really do not have anything to be so down about - so am proceeding to kick myself in B** ( not easy) and do something positive.

Well the car is repaired (yes we did take it to kwik-fit but only because OH wanted it repaired a.s.a.p.) and although they quoted us £200, they only charged us £170 including the MOT.

Phone Time Retail Finance on Monday to find out why they took the full Direct Debit from my account on Friday. Apparently I owe them £200 still. Going to try and find that money (even if it means going over drawn for a couple of days) to pay it off so that will save me £10 a month which can go towards something else.

I managed to avoid the take-out that daughter wanted for her birthday yesterday but made a "party" instead costing about £18. However it also supplied us with an evening meal last night, half the evening meal tonight and I will be using some more bits (mainly salad) tomorrow night as well so I can put off the weekly shop for a day or two due to things being left over :)

I have just over £2 in PIN money and I'm about to look at the Cap One offer I've had through so I might be able to save £16 a month (or more) in interest. I've also juggled the remaining housekeeping for the month so that I can make up for the £20 I took out to pay for the party.

Off now to watch You Are What You Eat and will then be sitting down to look over the finances again. I'm wondering where I can make cuts

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
