Well done to everyone for getting off to a flying start :T
My PMS is in the red before I even start this month as I've got a sick animal needing specialist veterinary treatment, plus taxi fares of £80 a round trip before I even start with the vet bills"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I suppose my virtual savings is £40 as I have saved 4 pairs of trousers by using my sewing machine that cost me £95 a few months ago.
I even managed to salvage one pair by taking out the zips and sewing them up and then taking up the hems. So now I have another wearable pair as they where too long and dragged on the ground.
And I am very proud as I never thought that I would be able to use my machine. But 1st attempt it is not to bad. Just took for ever to take out the zips
The machine is now half way through paying for it self. And I was on a roll as I even sewed up the broken pocket linings in hubbys fleece.
So I am :j

Well done you :T
I bought a sewing machine around 6 years ago and it's still in the box
I had all these good intentions of making all my own curtains, bedding and some clothes but somehow never got a round tuit
I'm not sure i can even remember how to thread one these days as I haven't used a machine since needlework class in school, and even then I managed to put the needle straight through my finger  :rotfl:"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Hehe, that sounds just like me, I bought a machine and then sold it unused as the last time I used one I was repairing a pair of jeans and sewed the zip to the kneeOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

I started a little early with the PIN money challenge, last pay day the 18th March, so far I'm doing really well and have £105.37 ready to go towards my credit card bill next month, was originally for the wedding but were away visitng family and at a wedding at the weekend and this will cover the hotel which was put on the credit card. Here's a breakdown of where it came from in case anyones interested:
Opening balance in cash jar - 9.90
Reduced to clear - 0.14 (need to get better at this!)
Supermarket deals - 11.53
Using boots points - 6.88
Saving on train fayres - 4.05
Money in jar - 0.90
Selling old books on amazon - 46.97
Compensation from mortgage lender for error - 25.00
Think the cash jar will have gathered some more coins before next pay day and hopefully I will have sold some more of my books, will also be adding any money saved in the grocery challenge.Total Debt (27th Nov 08) £16,707.03 Now £5,102.72Debt Free Date [strike]Nov 2012[/strike] August 20110 -
