If money is as tight as it sounds ... instead of buying an engagement gift, can you make/rustle up something "unique" and "personal" = priceless?

    Some thoughts:
    • write a small, sentimental poem about them, print it out in a fancy font and frame it with a frame you nab from a charity shop?
    • copy a fav photo of the couple and frame it?
    • cross stitch a sampler with the date and their initials?
    • make a "Brag Book" style mini album with some photo's and a brief outline of their history together (ie: how/where they met; first date; funny moments)?
    • make an "Apology Goblet"? (They suggest having it engraved which can be pricey, instead, hunt down a pretty glass and simply add the label)
    • make a "Unity Candle"?
When money has been especially tight in our family, we've resorted to humour rather than cost or a gift of sentiment.

Adding another £30 to my virtual savings - I won't be getting it immediately, but as soon as it materialises then I can transfer it to my PMS :D

How? Well, a certain mobile phone company has twice promised and twice failed to rectify a mistake. Today's operator was using the "broken record" technique on me and I was using it back - which I think took her by surprise - anyhow, after much if-ing and oof-ing she realised that I was (of course!) right, so she tried, bless her heart, to see if there was another way around the protocol to remedy the error. As promised she phoned me back; sadly, the upshot remained the same though; I gave in, graciously, then she took the wind out of my sails and stated that, to compensate me for the problems, she would be adding a £30 credit to the account! :j It wasn't what I was striving for and I will get the mistake rectified, which is all I wanted, so this is bonus :D Hehehe, dh is well impressed - especially when I worded it as: "I earned £30 for 20 mins work today" ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
That's great Queenie well done! I have recently had a phone call from my mobile company as my contract is up for renewing. I didn't want a new phone as at my age I am still learning how to use the one I have got :) and I am very pleased with it. I also have no need for extra messages etc as I barely use phone, just for emergencies and a few texts to my family, so she then offered me £10 a month off my monthly rental! So that brings my bill down to £3.99 a month if I stick to the package I have now - no problem as I don't always use my alloted calls and messages as it is!

So I guess this month I can add £10 to my pin money!
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Yey, £10 to PIN money account today for getting my MIL signed up to Talk Talk. Will also save about £8  a month as she only had a mobile before and we had to ring her on that. Now it's going to be free :j She also gets £10 and she saves money on phone calls - so good all round.

I've just realised that my pin money is going to be a lot more than I anticipated this month.

I've won £20 of Rachels Organics vouchers (along with some other stuff) so they will be used when I do the Tesco shop, and I also won some mens diamond earrings which I have sold to the ex for £25 and 2 trailer loads of horse manure.

So that's £45 in the PMP already :D

I'm going to join this challenge, as I need a kick up the bottom to get me to start saving!

I live with my parents, and have no debt so why can't I save?

LOL, that's nothing compared to the last three years :D

I only kept a spreadsheet of my wins for the first year but in that year I won £9000 worth of prizes :)

I must get back to some serious comping again soon.

    WOW, moggins!!

Katgoddess - from my standpoint, you are doing brilliantly!

Just my April goal today = £100 worth of savings.
I’m hoping to divert £25-30 of my PIN money savings to cover personal spending on a trip abroad next month to see the inlaws. The rest will be swallowed up with extra debt repayment.

I thought I wouldn't be able to join this challenge, as I struggle to stay within our budget and if there's any money left over in any budget "pot" it tends to just get moved around.......but.......I've realised that I DO have virtual PMS, so can join in with that!

I'm just about to post a cheque to overpay £500 on our mortgage, saving us about £28, so that's my first virtual PMS. :j
