Oh no Ive had a bit of a bad day.
Ive been feeling a bit lonely today and really missing my hubby which is daft because he only went last night. I am hormonal too and just feeling generally miserable. I was supposed to go out with my brother today to the park but it gushed down all day so I have been in the house all day bored to death.
Well to cut a long story short - the loaf that was for the ducks has been attacked. Six rounds of toast with honey. I dont know why I ate it and now Im really cross with myself.
I have six more weeks without my hubby and Im finding it really upsetting. I know he is home for a day and a half at weekends but we have never been separated before for longer than a couple of days and I hate it.
I am home all day bored stiff waiting for some stuff to come through with my company before I can start trading (hoped end March).
I am finding today really hard and hoped you all would have some words of encouragement for me.
Am feeling like a big fat lump at the mo.0 -

forgive me as i haven't read the whole of this thread, can somebody point me in the direction of some evidence/success stories for long term weight loss using CD? (2-3 years of maintenance).
sorry if i sound a bit sceptical, after you've been on as many 'diets' as i have, it grabs you a bit like that unfortunately!
Bit like going on holiday. You can go by boat or plane, but whether you have a good time when you there depends on youCambridge Weight Plan Consultant0 -
In fact I think I am going to have a bath and go to bed before I eat anything else.
I have some lovely Jo Malone stuff I normally use for special occasions only but I think today I deserve something special so sod it.
I will post again in the morning (hopefully in a better mood!). Night everyone.0 -
awww! Nomealone, cheer up honey! You've been doing really well 18lbs gone already. You've had a blip but tomorrow's another day! It's hard when you're you feeling bad not to turn to food for comfort. That how I've gotten where I am now, 6 stones overweight. But draw a line under today and move on. It's not easy & you are not going to be able to shed habits which have got you through the ups & downs of life at a drop of a hat. See this as learning curve - have a think about what you can do differently so that next time you feel down you have a plan. Remember how you feel now - having the toast hasn't made you feel better has it? It all experience & you can learn from it. Go get girl!0

Nomealone - Tomorrow is another day. Dust yourself off and get back to it.
Next time you feel low, come and have a moan to us. We are a much better tonic than toast and honey.Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -

It does get easier you know?
I start my Week 27 tomorrow - it has got easier with every passing week. As I said before in a post CD has become a way of life for me as it does for many others. A lot of folks get so into SSing that they don't want to go to 790 to start maintenance.
You have done brilliantly well already - 18lbs loss is fabulous.
At times when you feel down do something like have a bath, paint your nails, have an early night, put a face-pack on, phone a friend, come here and write down all your woes.
You will soon be lithe and slender ready for Summer x

nomealone I hope your feeling better??
It is hard, all I seem to think/speak about is food, I think I'm driving my friends up the wall! I don't remember being like this last time, I just got on with it.
From experience I can tell you that one slip up doesnt necessarily mean that you wont lose weight this week, so please dont do what I normally do once Ive slipped and think sod it for this week and carry on eating - that's what I did last week and managed a 4 pound weight GAIN. Previous weeks where I've slipped but then managed to get back to it straight away I've still lost.
I've had bars this week although I'm officially not supposed to as I cheated last week, it has helped with the picking though. Last night I got in and did all my housework and then had a long bath followed by 2 pints of water and bar just before bed. This seemed to work better for me, I can cope with shakes in the day at work because I'm to busy to think about food; it's when the boredom sets in at night that I have problems.
Anyways hi to everyone!! Happy Cambridging today!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
I love the bars!!
I have a thing about the cranberry bars at the moment!
It is freezing cold here today so more calorie burning going on! Great!
Have a great day!

I think it is important to share a few thoughts with you -
I had no idea - when I started on the diet whether I would get past the first month, never mind 6!!!!
Losing 17lbs the first week was enough for me to know that it would work for me, then when the weight kept falling off was the motivation to keep going.
Just before Christmas I hit a plateau and the scales didn't move by one ounce for days - I could have chucked the towel in - but I kept looking at how much weight I had already lost and that kept me going.
Meeting people I haven't seen for a long time was also a great motivator - then the GP last week, whose face was a picture!
At the end of the day I am doing this for me, for nobody else but me. For my own well-being, for my future health and for looking good in the mirror/photos. I used to hate having my photo taken - now I love it! I was never weighed for over 22 years, can you believe that? It is true - and part of the reason I gained so much weight. Am never ever doing that ever again. I currently weigh myself every single day, as soon as I get out of bed - so from one extreme to the other!
2008 is just going to get better and better !

Morning everyone
Am pleased to report that I am feeling much more positive this morning. I woke up at 6am after a fitfull nights sleep with the most horrendous P pain so the ravenous stuffing of the face and general miserable-ness was obviously just killer PMT. Now Ive started (sorry to be ick so early) I feel better mentally all of a sudden - its so weird. Men have no idea.
Ive always had rotten PMT but this month has been the worst Ive felt for a long time (hubby being away I think has capped it off).
Thanks for all your support. I am back on the wagon firmly now and hoping for not too much bashing at the scales on Saturday.
No wonder my friend calls them HARMones - they do some serious harm!0
