  • Hello everyone just checking in.

I am now up to 18lbs loss this morning and can now do up my jeans again and bend over in them!

Well done to you Cute n Quirky - fabulous! Glad you are becoming a counsellor - there are so few and of those that there are, they don't seem to be that great.

Hubby is also doing well - he is sort of doing his odd own thing involving the packs and bars but it seems to be working so I'm leaving him to it!

The only thing is we are so bored - normally entertainment involves food or food being nearby so we are a bit stuck. We cant go for long walks and stuff due to my hip problem so need ideas - anyone? He refuses to go to the cinema as he will be salivating over the popcorn and nachos.

The one good thing is he has thrown himself into DIY so all those little niggles in the house are now getting fixed!

Apart from the boredom (its even resulted in me sitting on the kitchen floor sorting out the contents of my cupboards!) I've had a great week.

It's funny how people can be snippy though. I am marketing my new company at the minute which involves radio interviews and the like. When I told a friend how much I'd lost so far, she said "soon you will be ok to go on tv" !!! Harumph!

And I did an interview today with someone I know and told her I was on CD and she said "oh my god youre not are you - the stuff is disgusting and its really bad for you". I asked her if she had ever tried it or researched it and when it came down to it, it was that she had "heard" from friends of friends.
I notice its always the ones who have a bit to lose themselves....
    :o
  • What about swimming? Or an aqua-aerobics class?

You could both join in and get fit at the same time.

What about taking up a class - like picture-framing or learning a language at a college?

    A massage course?

    Reiki?

I have RA so I can't do much in the exercise line either!! I do swimming, aqua-aerobics and pilates with bands - usually do the pilates in bed - lazy thing that I am but it still works!

  • I met a friend a week ago whom I hadn't seen since way before starting CD.

He had a long look at me and eventually said "how much weight have you lost?". I said 7 stones in 25 weeks (although I wasn't quite there at that time). His response was "when did you have the gastric bypass?". Another friend jumped in and said "no she has not had surgery she did through her own hard work" and that shut him up!!

I suppose since gastric bypass/banding is the 'in' thing at the moment it would come to mind for him. I was a bit put out about it at the time. Have got over it since then!

Just remembered about a lady I know whom is 'desperate' to lose weight, so I explained CD to her - this was when I had lost 4 1/2 stones - and the response I got was "oh I couldn't possibly give up having bread, how do you live without bread?". There are some twits in this World!

  • Yes there are a lot of twits in this world and I seem to bump into most of them!

Sadly cant do swimming or aqua aerobics - docs orders not to - we tried and both aggrevated my condition.

Also hubby is away all week and swims every night in his hotel so he doesnt fancy it at weekend.

Im starting a language course soon but its not really his thing.

Its makes you realise when you do CD just how much you normally spend cooking, eating and just well thinking about food!

At least my house is spotless and my nails are regularly manicured and polished!
    :o
  • You could always rediscover each other!!

  • There's already too much of that!! (Trying for a baby!)
    :o
  • Aha I see!

Never mind, have a great CD Day!

hey guys, I'm in awe at your losses, well done.

I would like to lost a couple of stones and am seriously thinking about CD. Just a quick question though, is there any soya in any of the products? I have a soy allergy, so that would be a big no for me.

  • You would have to stay away from the lactose-free shakes/soups as they are made from soya and not skimmed milk.

  • Have been having a sort through the wardrobe AGAIN!!

So many clothes that I have been able to wear, although they are too big, are all of a sudden falling off me!

Got a binbag full of clothes for the Charity shop, another binbag full for the bin and yet another binbag full to sell on ebay!
