I was wondering as i am coeliac, is this diet gluten free?
i would say im am about 2 stone over weight for my age and height. is it really easy the lose this amount i have read a lot of the posts, and several people have really struggled its usually the ones that just want the lose a couple of stone, is this correct? i would like a really your honest opinion..
thankyou0 -
Yes CD is gluten free!
No you shouldn't have any problem in losing 2 stones !!
The reason people do is because they think "oh well it isn't much to lose" so they don't look at the diet in quite the same way.
If you have your head in the right place you won't have any problem at all.

It would come in handy if you happened to be out of CD packs and didn't want to blow your CD diet.
"My nutritionist friend took a look at a tetra from CD and told me a way of recreating the diet (SS) for only £0.91p a day.
Obviously this info isnt here to persuade you to ditch the CD but just to let you know that there is an alternative which has EXACTLY the same nutritional content!!
3x 200ml skimmed milk per day
3x 1tsp skimmed milk powder per day
1x multivitamin tablet per day
1x omega 3 fish oil capsule per day
1x sachet of fybogel per day
The total cost of this for 1 day is approx £0.90p which saves at least £4.50 per day when compared with the CD tetra packs!!! "
I remember reading this on this thread a while back, and wondered if anyone thought it was worth trying?
Due to a back problem over the last year I became much less mobile and ended up putting on quite a bit of weight and being generally low, I am now due to get married in September and as I'm feeling more positive want to give losing this weight a go. I really don't think my budget can stretch to doing the actual Cambridge Diet (no matter how good it would make me look!) as currently our food and drink budget is £25 per week for the 2 of us, and seeing as we'd still have to buy food for OH, I really can't spare the amount needed for the CD, the budget is really tight as it is.
I know I'd be missing out on having a counsellor but from what I've read on this thread, I'd get the same from you guys anyway!

The problem is that there is no way of checking if it covers all necessary nutrition.
What about trying a low GI diet instead? It is very successful.

I was reading some of the posts on this thread & I have to say I have been inspired. I have an appointment to see a counsellor this evening. I know it is not going to be easy but I cannot stay as I am. I want to feel better about myself, be more active, less tired and feel confident!
So please count me in as well! I haven't felt this upbeat & positive about a diet in years. Lets go for it!:j0 -

Crikey. That's an old one. Yes, this was posted on minimins but was quickly removed as it was considered not nutritionally balanced.
As for the gluten, it's not 100% gluten free, but there is such a little, only a very tiny minority of those super-sensitive would have a problem with it.
Very best of luck aellon. I remember being very positive when I started. Kinda of nervous too. Glad I plucked up the courage to make the call.Cambridge Weight Plan Consultant0 -
Hi
Ive done Lipotrim before but me and tubby and hubby have put most of it back on oops!
I want to do CD but have just spoken to a counsellor who says he charges £1.80 per sachet. Do they all charge the same - or do different counsellors charge differently?
Also do they attempt to do some form of counselling - I dont want a lecture or some touchy feely rubbish.
Thanks0 -
Just been to my first 2008 CD weigh in and I have lost 2lbs
. Pretty pleased with myself about this:j . I am not doing 100% but am being very careful and it is obviously working.
