    Hi

Ive done Lipotrim before but me and tubby and hubby have put most of it back on oops!

I want to do CD but have just spoken to a counsellor who says he charges £1.80 per sachet. Do they all charge the same - or do different counsellors charge differently?

Also do they attempt to do some form of counselling - I dont want a lecture or some touchy feely rubbish.

    Thanks

I think they can charge what they like, so it varies, mine charges 1.70 per sachet, 1.90 per tetra and bar. When i first did it 2 years ago it was £31 a week regardless of what you had, bars, shakes, tetras, etc which was great, its a but more expensive now.

Ive just rung another two and was quoted £1.65 per sachet and £1.70 per sachet. Why doesnt everyone just charge the same? Also all three were as mad as hatters, one wouldnt let me get a word in!! Does anyone know a good one in North Manchester?!

LOL, they are self employed so they can charge what they like I think.

Yes, they can charge what they like. Some charge more for tetras and bars as the actual cost to the CDC is more.

I remember reading this on this thread a while back, and wondered if anyone thought it was worth trying?

Due to a back problem over the last year I became much less mobile and ended up putting on quite a bit of weight and being generally low, I am now due to get married in September and as I'm feeling more positive want to give losing this weight a go. I really don't think my budget can stretch to doing the actual Cambridge Diet (no matter how good it would make me look!) as currently our food and drink budget is £25 per week for the 2 of us, and seeing as we'd still have to buy food for OH, I really can't spare the amount needed for the CD, the budget is really tight as it is.

I know I'd be missing out on having a counsellor but from what I've read on this thread, I'd get the same from you guys anyway!

CnQ you probably know the answer, you CD queen you x

I wouldnt have thought that this would contain all of the nutrition you would need, I mean all of the vitamins would be there but what about the trace elements and minerals?? Also would there not be some carbs in the fybogel?

I have been for my first weigh in tonight, diet starts tomorrow:T

Anyone else had first weigh in tonight? Ang??

  • I think the one at £1.65 sounds ok - I am happy with that but she sounds as mad as a fruitcake so I'm a bit concerned she will get on my nerves. How long do the appointments last? She said she will provide really good counselling - I don't want counselling -I am not going to start having some sort of therapy session with someone who isn't qualified. I have rung four in total - one sounded manic, one was a chatterbox, one was great but too far away and the other sounded depressed!! Oh well it's only once a week and hubby said we can drift away when she is rabitting just like he does with my mother lol cheeky devil!

You dont get proper counseling, lets be realistic here the majority are not trained counselors and we dont pay them enough to do that! you get a support person that you can call if you need them. they dont harass you, they might ask you how you are doing and if you have any questions when you see them.
I also didnt even see my old C once a week I saw her once a month and got a months supply at a time.

nomealone :rotfl: :rotfl: phoned my consellor today and she sounds lovely, mind i didn't have much of a choice, apparently CDC are pretty thin on the ground up here. She did say to allow for an hour for the 1st visit.

    nomealone,

I've just come back from seeing my CD counsellor & she was ok. She charges £1.65 per sachet which translates to £46.20 for this 1st week I am tall so need 4 packs a day. As for counselling well there was nothing to heavy (no couch or tell me about your mother / father!) I filled in a form about my medical history she weighed & measured me, we talked about my target weight, then she told me about CD step 1 & step 2 and how it works, tips on how to avoid side effects (drink plenty of water etc). We also discussed how I'm likely to feel over the next couple of days & how to identify when ketosis sets in (also she gave me some of those little strips to pee on just in case I can't identify it by mood alone - some people feel euphoria some don't!)I then picked what drinks I wanted & paid. All in all it took about 40mins or so but no it wasn't too long & I guess that will be less next time I go as I'll just get weighed measured & pick up my drinks. Go for it it won't be that bad!

I am ready to start tomorrow so may the force be with you! Bring it on!
