  • Lyn your CDC seems to be advising you incorrectly.

Cambridge state, quite clearly, that from a BMI of 25 plus one stone you must do 790 for one week then go to 1000 Plan.

You are well below the BMI of 25 yet your CDC is still advising you to stay on SS????

A body of BMI 25 does not have the fat stores to sustain Sole Source and will start to use energy from the muscle tissue.

Your CDC has a Code of Conduct to follow, which she obviously isn't.

  • I am admitting to nothing on the grounds that it might be incriminating!

How are you getting along Toots?

I can now see how my mates can have a chicken salad for lunch and not be utterly starving, [/COLOR]
They probably don't have any 'issues' with food. Eat when they are hungry, stop when they are satisfied:cool: I feel like that now, but it's been a bit of a long haul after years of dieting. Some days I don't get hungry until teatime. I just follow my body :) I don't miss out on any food groups.

I thought carbs weren't good for me, but something else was going on. They were mainly refined carbs, rather than the real thing;) The only problem with using low carbs for maintenance is that it depletes the glycogen and if you have anything higher carb, the scales go into shock
Its not so much that, its more "what can I buy in a petrol station".
You do need to be a bit prepared if you don't want to fall into bad habits. A sandwich at the ready, or piece of chicken like toots recommended. I keep a few almonds on me in case I get 'caught short' and hungry before it's a meal time.
Im 5.0 -5.1 and my BMI was 26 last week I think,
As the others have said, I'm a bit confused on this one too. Did you mean BMI 26? That would make you slightly overweight (not that BMI is a great indicator).

  • Unfortunately the insurance companies take the BMI as gospel.

Being prepared whilst on CD is very important, I have found. To prepare ahead so that I am not caught out without anything to eat and hungry, which is always a really bad combination.

All carbs aren't bad, just the over-processed variety.

Unfortunately I have coeliacs and cannot have any of it any longer.

Carbs have had a bad press in the last few years but a low-GI diet is to be highly recommended.

I think my BMI has been fluctuating cos Im choosing bad foods.

I cant remember exactly whats what I am so overwhelmed at the moment

Today has been a nightmare. Ive eaten bad food twice. Its def TOTM cravings again I cant control it, its so hard _pale_

I just dont want to be smaller than a size 8-10 really, even if my BMI is higher than that surely its the size that matters. I dont care about what the scales say- cos I dont have any ;)m on 790, then will SS when I get back off hols again to get back to this size.

Im about as confused as you are! Im going to just SS until Tuesday afternoon then im off on hols.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • To be underweight, your BMI would be less than 20

I tried the CD a few months ago but was told by my CDC not to do the sole source because no one can stick to it. I was told to do two packets a day and one meal. Well after a month I had lost 10lbs so was not particularly happy and I also found that I would cheat because I was told not to do sole source. I have to say my CDC isn't that good - it's just money for her. I've been weighed and measured twice including first session.

I have three stone to lose, have got on scales which register fat % and it says 43.8%  . BMI = 32.

So would you suggest I try sole source and possibly change my CDC?:o Three stone in two months   - that would make me blissfully happy! Well Done Cute n Quirky.
  • Goodness Lara. Where did you find that CDC:eek: Lots of people stick to SS. It makes me seeth when I hear about daft CDCs who don't know what they are talking about. It gives the diet a bad name.
Three stone in two months   - that would make me blissfully happy!

And happy you may be if you change the CDC ;) I lost 3 stone in 2 months, but then I had loads to lose.:o

It did slow down a bit, but was still a stone a month until 8 stone was gone:j:j That is bliss;)

well I started on Tuesday, felt awful tuesday night, headachy and starving!

Felt much better wednesday, and yesterday (thurs) was wonderful, this afternoon however I'm feeling terrible.

I'm shaky, exhausted, really hungry, headachy, teary and grouchy. It's not even my TOTM, I've had 3 litres of water today, and 2 CD shakes so far.

This evening I've been sooooooooo close to giving up :o. My DH has managed to talk me round to staying on it (he knows how unhappy I am being overweight, I have 5 stone to loose).

Just wanted to share that's all! I'm still on plan, am struggling a bit but want to see this through.

I've not had anything apart from over 3 litres of water and the 3 shakes per day so far.

You're all doing so well and I'd really appreciate your experiences of the first couple of weeks (I do keep re-reading this thread every week for inspiration!), did you come close to quitting or did you want to loose weight too much? How long was it before you felt "empowered" that you could really do it?

Right, off to split the last pack of the day - vanilla for dinner tonight!

    Lou xx

Day 3 is always hard!! For everyone!

By Day 7 you will feel on top of the World - particularly when you have had your first weigh-in and seen the fruits of your Labour!

It really is worth it, I promise!

    Just hang on in there!

I'm doing okay - still sticking rigidly to it although not losing weight anywhere near as fast as you. You must be really chuffed. I've lost exactly two stones in 7 weeks - lost 8 pounds in the first week and between 3 and 4 each week since. I'm a bit disappointed but at least it's moving in the right direction even if it isn't as quickly as I would have liked. I'm trying hard to up my water intake but I do find that difficult - especially now the weather has gone colder (as if I wasn't cold enough already through the diet!).

I must admit I don't actually look at myself and think I look any different but that's probably because I'd been at my current weight (11st 10) for a couple of years prior to putting the 2 stones on over the last year through comfort eating. It's as if I've blotted out how I've looked during the last year and I'm starting from scratch now.

At least I've got quite a lot of clothes that fit now and, although I say it myself, I look fairly reasonable at my weight.

Keep up the good work - both on CD and with your tips for meals (that I can't wait to try).

I made the mushroom and cottage cheese concoction today and cooked it in the oven - it was delicious! I added some herbs and some mustard powder. Also added a tiny amount of grated cheese to the top. Baked at 180C for 15 minutes!

I am to the stage where I am meeting folks I haven't seen for a couple of months or longer and I am getting "My God look at you!!", which is great!

Am having a sort out of my wardrobe over the weekend since all my "fitted" clothes from last Winter don't any more! They will have to go to the Charity Shop or to Ebay, or in the bin.

The pounds just fall off with Cambridge, that is the best thing about it all. I love it!
