Thans C&Q!
I know you are right, but Im not too sure my cdc will agree, we'll see. I think some of the "fat" thats left ( belly mainly) a lot of this is untoned just skin etc, and nothing that some excercize couldnt resolve, as long as i carry on with the CD in some form/stage.
I do feel a bit frustrated excercize wise as Im literally bursting with energy ( has my kitchen ever been cleaner) and sleeping well, waking up well etc, that it actually feels weird for me not to be excercising in some form.
I do walk a few miles per day, what with to and from the tube station, quite a lot of walking at work and the dog walking, but I wanna do some step dancercize type thing, but worried on this plan i dont have the calories. Saying that tho, Ill be back to SS when I get back and i probaby will feel pretty ropey on that and the excercize question will probably be a bit by-the-bye then! Malawis national food seems to be chips & relish
or fish & salad - fine- but the foreign office says dont eat the salad cos of the water! Whats a gal to doIll cope I guess!
To everyone kicking off this week, now is the time you might start feeling rubbish, STICK WITH IT- the rewards are reaped so quickly :T :j: :j :T:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
oooooh also had a thought last night about the soups/ recipe type stuff.
Wondered, could you use the tomato soup, a pinch of chilli powder and quorn mince to make a chilli?
I bought Atkins for life cookery book 99p stores the other day ( loads of low carb ideas for maintaining in there and I could never resist a bargain like thatand they recommend mashing cauli instead of potato. Wonder whether that could be an option to jazz up quorn??
this would work on the 790- or AAM.
I dont buy the soups any more, but I could be persuaded for the sake of making sauces. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

You can have curry powder too, if you wanted too!
I don't like curry/chilli so that idea had never entered my head!
They use the curry powder then have the fat-free yoghurt - in place of the skimmed milk allowance - on top.
You could use whichever soups you wanted to!!
There you go - another idea!
Great bargain on the Atkins cookery book.
On amazon.co.uk you'll find a few low-carb cookbooks too - do the search then go to the used/new, the new books on there are loads cheaper (usually) than amazon itself.
Or you could use a low-GI cookery book too!0 -
well.......
I've finally started the CD!!! (and I'm flipping starving).
So far today I've had 2 of my milkshakes (will have the other in a bit) and 2.5 litres water. I'm really tired today aswell so don't think that's helping matters much.
Do you still get hungry after doing it for a while or does it lesson after a few days? My CDC explained about ketosis etc but it seems too good to be true that this hunger will fade away!!
I'm feeling really positive, I don't know how others feel about revealing their weight, but I'm fine (well as fine as I can be  ) with it... I weighed in at 15st 1 today     .
So here goes........... I want to get to at least 10 stone, maybe a smidge below depending on how I feel about my shape when I get there.
Honey.
Honetly, the starvation will stop.
What basically happens is that you have your shakes, and the body will take a whilke to filter the "food" ( nutrients) from the water. It will take a while.
At the same time, your body will start using the energy from ( as I politely call it) your reserves - ie your fatSo this is how youll burn the fat off.
Ketosis negates hunger. Honestly.
If you do feel very hungry ( adn I did too right at the start) my CDC recommended splitting the packs. If you have a jug blender all the better.
You can put more water in than the CD recommends to stretch them out a bit further. My CDC has about a pint of water in each shake, but I think that makes them a bit watery I tend around 9 fl OZ. If you make it up in your jug blender have half, then later on when you feel hungry again give it another wizz and have the second half.
Theres no way I would have survived the first week or so without splitting them I was really ravenous for a bit- but then I never reuced my carbs by much at all before hand. i thought I did - but not enough LOL
Its not too good to be true- it IS true. but the first few days can be utterly rotten. When ketosis kicks in, you will fully understand what we mean about feeling light and happy, It really is something else! :T
In the first few days I just retired to bed with books/mags/ trash tv in the PJs and felt sorry for myself wailed a lot about how lifes not fair and generally was a pain for a few days. then it gets MUCH better!
All good for me today. Aside from a nibble of jaffa cake ( WHY :wall:) but Im not hungry, another office day so its good realy. However, Im on the road all day tromorrow, so god knows how much water Ill be able to sink....
keep going with it taffoire, believe me , you wont regret it:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Emmzi - Im quite surprised you dont want to see any CDC as you are *fat* all CDCs have gone through the CD themselves- as they were overwight/obese too! I certainly havent had any sort of judgment from mine ( well she couldnt really could she!?) I was expecting her to be a bit like that diet group woman on little britiain! But no, she is lovely! And she was shortlisted for slimmer of the year etc, she was obvioulsly much bigger than she is now, and looks fantastic now! I wouldnt let the "embarrasment" get in the way, having someone who has been through it and stil maintaining is a marvellous support!
Oh, I have loads of hang ups.. mainly putting the weight back on since I last saw her...
However, replacement plan tastes foul and mixing shakes midday is proving difficult, so back to CDC Saturday for some choc teras which will at least get drunk without gagging!Debt free 4th April 2007.

Weight Matter is £59 per week, according to the website!
When I read the site it seems to be a cross between CD and LL.
Even the wording on the website seems to be taken straight from Cambridge.
It is like with Atkins - there were all these new diets sprang up that were literally Atkins copies with slight variations and different names.

£49 a week for 4 packs a day. You also get a counslling session in person or by phone - or you would if they had enough counsellors. But really, I haven't found any flavour that isn't an ordeal yet... so I'd advise against.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Came across this recipe and thought it sounded yummy!!
For the 790 Plan
Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms
4 portobello mushroom caps
1 cal spray oil
2 tbsp fresh basil (chopped)
2 tbsp fresh oregano (chopped)
1/2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves (chopped)
1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
3ozs of Cottage Cheese
Set grill to medium.
Spray the inside of the mushrooms with some of that 1 cal oil
Place the mushrooms gill side down on the grill
Spray the outside of the mushrooms with some of that 1 cal oil
Close grill and let heat for 3 minutes.
Turn caps over (gill side up) and sprinkle with herb mixture. Close grill and heat 4-6 minutes.
Spoon shredded cheese onto mushroom caps and close grill for another 2-3 minutes, or until cheese has browned.0 -
