Maz, what are you doing on Saturday? You are so good, bakery smells are one of the hardest to resist. An inspiration to us all - Thank you!

have i not said, i'm trying not to witter on about it all the time!

I'm doing a 5k run, erin is doing a 1.5km run at Balmoral.... another woman from runclub is coming with us and doing the 5k too, she was to be bringing her daughter who erin knows but DD can't come now, so that's a bummer... Runchum rachel is coming too, she is doing another 10k....... another reason not to have picnic food as Rach is a fellow CD-er and she can be a naughty minx, she's lost 1st 5 i think in 9 weeks, which is great but could be so much better... it's beacuse she's never 100%. she's got a social life of course! which can affect things!!

However she is very focused this week, so it makes me moreso too...

WEll done on resisting the treats at seminar! another box ticked tonight methinks!!!

So can I ask you, now I am getting into this joggy running thing, how long does it take you to do 5k?

between 35-40mins these days... initially it was somewhere above 45mins... and it took a while to get up to running 45mins non stop...

i am a mucho slow runner though, even now, but y'know it's about covering the distance for me, not how long it took. Although i do note how long it took purely for comparisons sakes....

I think that it is better to go slower and sustain it longer, than run like mad and have to stop.
Last night I only went to 8.5 and found it much easier to complete the program.
Wow, 45 minutes none stop, I am very impressed.

Tomorrow I move up to 2 mins run, 3 mins walk, I am feeling quite confident that this one will be acheivable, by next wednesday it goes up to 4 mins. I need to get a new tv in there to keep me distracted, thats the only thing with running on a TM it gets pretty boring.
As I don't have any money, will try charging the ipod, that might help.

Good luck on your shopping trip Alpha, don't be tempted to get any extras for you and Mr Alpha - can't wait to hear about your running plans too!

good luck with the shopping alf!

sue/duncs - i'm probably an hour and half without stopping now on my longest runs, but like i say it's very slow. Generally we do 3 miles which is about 35mins in runclub though...

I'm not great on a tready though, as it makes me go faster than i am able for... and if i run at my pace on a tready it feels too slow....!!

your 8.5 will be km an hour... so 5.5miles ph, so on your running bits you're faster than i am already.... i'm about 5mph give or take.....

you're doing great... have you got a chart for that?

Well Done Goldie! You are going great guns.

Maz, for the running I am colouring in the days on the chart Gill gave me, (cheated today and coloured in day 4 which is another rest day, but thought I would probably manage that!!!) I am only doing 8.5 for a minute though, but as you say, I would rather keep going for longer, so if I start to struggle I might drop the speed down a bit.

Once I get, (see hows that for confidence) to the 25 mins, then I will have another look.
Apparently, everything over 20 mins is wonderfully fat burning, so will be better going for a longer time than world record speed in any case.

My friend is going to have a go, and a couple of people in work have said they will have a try too, so that will help spur me on aswell!!
