Hi All
Have been reading this thread with interest. Have got a couple of stone to lose, however not sure I have the willpower for this!
However, my big question, which I cannot find answered anywhere - How bad for you is this diet? Can it be damaging to your health?
This ketosis thing does not sound good?
Anyway, glad to see you all doing well!0 -
Hi Mooncake.
This diet is NOT bad for you
It is scientifically created and extensively trialled and tested. It has the exact amounts of nutrients/vitamins/minerals/fats/Protiens
This means that your body has exactly what it needs to function (ask any of us how healthy and full of energy you can feel on this diet!) and all your organs and muscles are protected (because of the protien)
none of us are 'converts' and this is not a sales pitchi did my research and even read the book. This is a 'diet' that works and is safe and healthy. The only reason people put weight back on is because they revert back to their old habits
Ketosis is a natural body function from the days where we hunted fro food and didnt always have full bellies. Its our bodies way of burning off the stored fats and is great in that once in it you dont feel hungry. The first few days (and subsequently any days) of the diet are NOT easy but it gets easierIf you dont know where you are going... Any road will take you there :rotfl:0 -
Hi Everyone,
Faye you are doing well arn't you! 30lbs in 8 weeks is great.
Did your family enjoy the football, my son is made up, he got on the TV 4 times, 2 of them big close ups, although the biggest close up was of him during the penalty shoot out, frowning and then ducking because he couldn't watch!
They didn't get back until 10 past 1, it was a nightmare getting him up for school this morning.
Alpha, I don't obviously know your medical history or the advice you have been given, I have confirmed arthritis in my spine and my right hip. My specialist advised me to lose weight and do exercise, when I said how much and should I avoid certain exercise like running, he just told me to take painkillers!!!
My mum is 60 something and is trying to get fitter, she also has arthritis, all over. She has been walking a mile a day but struggling. (she is also very overweight) However she is going to adapt the program so rather than actual running, she is going to Powerwalk for the running bit, and walk comfortably for the walking bit.
Its worth a try and would help build up your stamina and your heart rate, (mines useless - I will give you all a rundown on day 1 shortly)
Spud you might find that a better starting point and actually power walking is more fat burning than actual running you know!!!
mrs_t are you moving to Brisbane for good? Are you still going to post? Will you come back for the skinny bods reunion we will have to arrange when we are all on maintenance?????
Welshy, hang on in there, it is so hard to be good all the time. Did you read Maz's blog, its really good, its also reassuring to hear Maz let us know that she had bad days, and days where she gave in to temptation and still has great progress. I thought it was great. I think you have done amazingly well if you havent given in, I just can't help myself, my body just seems to have a mind of its own and even when my head is saying don't be stupid. (I've just finished of my sons bag of crips - I don't even eat crisps in real life)0
