well ladies my day cant get any better, i am going to give you all a laugh not only am i feeling crap, i have just gone to make up my shake today and decided that i was going to put some ice cubes in it and mix it in my £25.00 smoothie maker that hubby bought me. So there i am having positive thoughts when i decide that it has not mixed enough so i get out a spoon and scrape the powder from the sides and start it mixing again. At that point the top flew of to the other side of the kitchen, mix flew out of smothie maker and also started seeping out of the botom, dived for the plug wondering what the hell was happening to discover i had left the spoon in the mixer when i turned it on. So now i have no mix, no smothie maker as it is now broke and a very dented spoon, It can only get better surely.

Well done on giving up the smokes Vixster. I wish I could, but I need to concentrate on this for now (i can only manage one thing at a time).

Hi annzi33 - well done on taking the first step - yesterday was probably one of the most miserable i have ever had (my first day), but as posted above, feeling great today, so keep with it and let us all know how you are getting on.

Hi Welsh_cake - I do sometimes wonder if I'm completely mad for giving up the ciggys AND food ! Thing is, I gave up smoking on 6th Feb and within 3 weeks I had put ON 11lb. How awful is that, especially considering I was seriously overweight before I put on the extra 11lb.

That's why I won't pack them in yet. I know I will eat loads if I stop now. The fags are the main thing that are stopping me from eating at the moment. If I am hungry I tend to have a smoke instead of food! Not really very healthy I know, but as i said before, one thing at a time!

oh poor you Huggy!!! i'd take it back to the shop, just say it started chuntering away and there was a real noise and when you stopped it, the blades were mashed!!

i'm cheeky like that!!!! Argos/Asda wouldn't even take it out the box to look at it! Depends where you got it from i guess.......

Re ketostix, you do have to ask behind the counter, and you might be asked why... which annoys me cause it's sticks to pee on !!!!!!, not likely to cause yourself major harm by overpeeing on sticks are we??

They have a colour code on the side, fleshy - neutral to very dark purpley-pink.... ketones in the urine are indicated by shades of pink....

The sticks are for diabetics amongst others, where ketones in the urine would indicate shortage of insulin so body burning fat... undesirable for diabetics but great for CD-ers!

some people pee in a cup and dip it in, i just pee directly on the stick!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

    Hi everyone

Just got back from seeing my CDC, I've lost 8lb in my first week so am very pleased.

I did talk to my CDC about the fact I haven't had any "movements" for a week, she was slightly concerned and said it's up to me but she would recommend I take some laxatives for it. Think I'm gonna follow the advice I've been given on this thread and get some husks - not keen on going down the laxative route.

    Well done Keywee - that's great !
