i remember being a really mardy biatch on day 2.... Big G said "if this is how it's gonna be, then you can pack it in right now!"

    Thankfully it passed really quickly!

Re the ketosis, you will just feel better in yourself, maybe have a funny taste in your mouth....

Worth investing in some Ketostix from pharmacist for about a fiver, the will indicate if you're in ketosis or not... and are invaluable for monitoring if you've had something you maybe oughtn't to have had.....
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Ooh I didn't know about the Ketostix. Can you just pick them up in boots or do you need to ask behind pharmacy? I am feeling great today, but its only day 2. Would be good if i was in ketosis already. Yesteday was absolutely horrendous - headaches, empty belly. I was in bed by 7pm just trying to think about anything other than food!

Hubby is really supportive of this, he knows how bad tempered i get when i am hungry so just stays away from me, hence the reason i choose to have my first couple of days on this whilst i was on days of from work. I do have a funny taste in my mouth not a nice taste is this when your breath starts to smell ect and how long will it last, also sorry to ask so many questions this ketostix what is it, what does it look like just so i know what i am looking for when i go to the chemist.

    Hi all,
My meeting went really well last night, my CDC is lovely I felt so comfortable with her.... well started CD today so am on day 1 I have a bit of a headache but I think that is because I'm stuck in the house all day with the heating on waiting for the tumble dryer repair man to come. I had the apple and cinnamon porridge for breakfast which tasted alright but was abit lumpy which made me gag... but will continue with it.
    Hope everyone is well today

Hi Huggybear1 - stick with it, it definitely gets easier, I'm on Day 7 and feel fine today, not hungry in the slightest and no sign of any headaches - hurrah. Try to keep busy but don't over-do it physically as that will leave you feeling shattered !

As far as I am aware, Ketosis is when your body starts converting fats into energy. The smelly breath is a side affect but my CDC reckons it won't last forever. I gave up smoking on 6th Feb and my partner reckons the slightly stinky breath I've acquired in the last couple of days from doing CD is no where near as bad as when I had cigarette breath - so that makes me feel a little better.

    Hi All

You are all doing so well, let's keep it up.

Had my first re-start weigh in this morning and am very, very happy to report that I lost 13lbs !!!!!!!!! (Did get weighed last Weds eve, so wouldn't have lost as much if I'd been weighed tonight). I'm now 4lbs less than when I stopped in January so any loss now really will put me on 'new ground'. (Well, this time round anyway, IYKWIM).

Well done on giving up the smokes Vixster. I wish I could, but I need to concentrate on this for now (i can only manage one thing at a time).

Hi annzi33 - well done on taking the first step - yesterday was probably one of the most miserable i have ever had (my first day), but as posted above, feeling great today, so keep with it and let us all know how you are getting on.
