  • I chew gum but I know it's not recommended. It's not been a problem for me though and does help. I don't have more than 2 or 3 pieces each day though and not everyday. You could see how you go with it.

  • i did do it in oven and there was loads of oil so i blotted it a lot to absorb it... but i will stick to white fish if it's better.

    (doesn't white fish always come with chips, mushy peas and a pickled onion!!??:confused: )


    I know you shouldn't have salmon however it's cooked as although the oil it is full of is healthy it is very calorific and would scupper sole source. A small piece of white fish steamed you may get away with but I think they recommend you do solesource for 2 weeks to get firmly into ketosis first. Have you talked to your CDC about the next program up with 4 packs, a piece of fish chicken and some milk. This sounds like it would suit you better. Ask on minimins or your CDC if you need more info.

    feeling much better today, thanks so much for asking! mouth feels really bleugh...! think this may be ketosis kicking in! hurrah!!!! :j

    i shouldn't admit to this really but i feel i can honest on here, i did cut out a pack when i had the salmon, so mightn't have affected my calories but i hear what you're saying... i am supposed to be on 4 packs, but it's starting to seem like a chore to get them down my neck!

    my CDC called me yesterday morning to see how i was getting on....

    I feel like i'm coming out of the woods now...

    today i have a leek n potato soup for later, and a vanilla shake for afternoon....

    Today is runclub day, but am not going tonight... giving my body a chance to readjust a bit...

    i did go swimming yesterday with DD, she found some pals in pool so managed to get quite a bit of swimming done... i wonder if exercise burns your stores and knocks you into ketosis sooner...?
    I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

    Glad all is going well. If you feel no hunger you are probably in ketosis. I use ketostix to keep a check you can buy them on ebay (or from your CDC I believe).

    I sometimes find it hard to get all the packs in too. I find it useful to have some of the ready made tetra briks as they are easy and quick to get down.

    i've ordered myself some stix from Ebay along with my mini whisker thingy! so am investing in the longer term here!!

    saturday i could have happily jacked it in completely!

    i already know that when i do go onto maintainence, it will be low carb life forever as i have banished the carb craving now..... and really don't want it back!

    I think i will buy some tetras as i do fancy frozen ones!!!

    i've never had so many no spend days!!

    maybe i need to plan some treats....... i was 16stone 3lbs on my start on thursday night (my own scales are suggesting 15st 7 already, but not sure!)

    So when i get to 15 stone, i will go for a massage! (my CDC has her own therapy business too, so i know where i will go!)

    When i get to 14 stone, (which is my goal, for now) i will have a new haircut......

    further goals to follow if i decide to carry on beyond 14 stone (which i hope i will but didn't want to set myself up to fail IYKWIM)

    Oh bother!

    I've blipped today. Don't know why it happened out of the blue. Gone 18 days and blip. Now I have to forgive myself and get back on track. I think I will reward myself now on day 25 if I have managed to get back on track from now.
