I had started to think I can get away with a tiny bit of this and that which I know is a dangerous game to play. I thought I would have a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese and before I knew it I was eating a few crisps from a packet that were open in the cupboard. Then a chocolate biscuit, hot cross bun and some ...wait for it picked onions.

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it. My tummy feels full and uncomfortable and I can't wait to get back on track. Feeling really foolish but will turn it around and hopefully will not have affected my progress.

I think I had too much time on my hands today and because I have very stiff joints (embarassingly fell over a bench in the playground on friday) and so was not getting on with all those jobs I know I should.

Don't let my blip put you off if anything let it make your resolve stronger.

Awww hun! you're doing great, like you say forgive yourself and get back on track...!

i just had a vanilla shake, i was worried as sometimes you think things are okay flavour wise then 2nd time they are bleugh! But it was lush, that's definitely one for the multiples on thursday.......

Leek and potato soup earlier on, was okay at first but couldn't finish it...

and i admit to looking at carb content of pickled onions myself earlier today when in shops!! so i can relate! - i shed them as a no no, for now!

Shopping at lunchtime for office, toilet rolls, tea, coffee, bin liners etc... and i had a real moment passing the bread n stuff...! so tough but if i'd given in i'd have felt wretched....

now the day has gone on, the taste in my mouth is less.... maybe i'm not in ketosis after all! i really really really really wish i had a ketostick!! waiting on ebay delivery....

I have a good friend/neighbour who is diabetic.... i wonder if she'd have any???

Good luck with the test. Best time to test is in the morning but I don't blame you if you can't wait until then.

Looking on the positive side of my blip. I don't think I will have any problems going to the toilet for a day or two!

I have forgiven myself and will be back on track. I don't want this to affect another day. Have to cook the kids dinner now. That is going to be much harder for me tonight. I am so strong when sole sourcing I make it leave the room while they eat and go back to clear up. Good Luck with the test.

  • I am a typical food lover of all the things that are bad for you and for me i have to go for an all or mothing type of diet. I work strange hours and it is just impossible to follow a regimented diet where you count points or weigh foods. If i'm told i can eat an eclair as long as i have enough points i'll want the whole pack and will the blow the diet.

The cambridge diet it easy i'd say after day three as believe it or not the cravings for the junk go. Typically in the first week you loose approx 10lbs then they say you loose a stone a month. It is drastic as you totally remove food however they do offer plans with meals but the weight loss is less rapid.

I myself adapt it to my needs. I will always be a foodie and therefore eat out quite a bit socially. Whilst on this diet have shakes all the time at home and work but if the occasion comes that i need to eat out for a friends birthday or something i'll go for an atkins type of meal which is low carb for example in a pub a chicken caesar salad (leave the croutons) In an indian restaurant i'll have a tandori mixed grill with salad and still loose weight. And if i had a drink it would be vodka and diet coke.

If you have a lot to loose or just a little amount i'd recommend it as the results are very quick and will soon be noticed.

    Good luck:j

  • I have started cambridge diet today and thought I would start a Diary.. it may help others to share experiences, and will probs help me with any advice.

Well prob best a quick intro.

I am 27 5ft 10" and 19 stone male, I have always had a problem with my weight, But been quite fit as play rugby. I and others can never believe I'm the weight I am as I'm broad but still the weight.

I went on the Lighter Life diest 2 years back and dropped down to 16 stone, but basically neglected it and put it all back on. So I'm determined to sort it out.

    DAY 1

Not feeling to bad.. drinking plenty of water as I know its key. Had porridge for breakfast with the cinnamon which wasnt bad, and choclate shake for dinner.

Drinking plenty of water but ahve a banging head ache.... I'm also worried as feel a bit empty and have an interview on friday and need to be on the ball.... Will this pass?

Planning on a shake for dinner and off to the gym to keep my mind off food and a beer :(

any comments similar stories advice all appreciated.

hi moneyspender..... you will certainly feel much better in a few days... so should be right by friday....

i am posting my progress on here too but for the benefit of myself i have created a proper blog on www.minimins.com . they also have loads of good weight loss hints and tips and a section that is cambridge specific....... i haven't quite sussed out the forums or joined in much as i like it here!! buti have gleaned loads of info....

Take it easy at the gym, it would be easy to overdo it in the first few days... i skipped my normal monday run this week...

do you normally go to gym anyway, or is this new? (i'm guessing you do, due to rugby) Worth mentioning it's not advisable to have new activity starting at the same time as the plan...
