  • (Land of) Maz,

As far as the tomato soup goes, I add a spoonful or two of Reggae Reggae sauce (from Sainsbury) and a spoonful of sweet chili sauce to the oriental chili soup. They both taste immeasurable better!

My counsellor doesn't totally approve but it's the only way I can stomach the soups and as I'm losing 4lbs per week and have gone from size 22/24 to a size 16, I don't think it can be doing me too much harm.

It's the start of Day 4 for me. Last night was my only decent nights sleep, so I''m hoping it's set a precident now - and I can catch some proper Z's from this point on.

However, just wanted to post something to see if people felt this was good/bad health-wise...

I jumped on a flatmates scales. The first time since Saturday, when I was 19 stone 13 pounds. To my utter shock, but also delight, it said I was 19 stone 2 pounds. That means an 11 pound drop in just 3 days.

I'd be celebrating this if it weren't for the fact that 11 pounds in 3 days sounds bloody huge. Too huge, in my book. Is this at all okay? I've been nailing the water, so it's certainly not down to me not drinking anything.

Do guys burn at a faster rate or something?

Not too huge in my book, I do believe that men lose weight faster and the bigger you are I think the more you lose in the first week.

I lost 9lbs in my first week and I thought that was a lot for me, but I think it really was water retention. (conversely I think drinking loads stops water retention) and the 4lbs I put on over christmas...

Would be pleased with 4lbs for me in my second weigh in tonight, but 5lbs would be even better. That would mean a stone in 2 weeks - it would also mean that I would be just 8lbs off my pre pregnancy weight of almost four years ago........

Gilzor- 11lbs in 3 days is great but you might find that it slows in the next few to something like a stone/16lbs in the week, it's common to lose a lot in the first week......

Sammy - fingers crossed for a hooooge loss tonight!

i was at the dentist this morning, ended up getting an extraction and was a bit cold and shaky.. it was a mild case of shock apparently, probably due to not eating breakfast.... anyhow the dentist asked the nurse to bring me a sugary drink! oh my stomach nearly fell thru my boots!!! i was petrified, however i had a few sips.... strong mix of diluting juice and warm water, very sweet and delish! however citric acid and sugar! i just thought "what about my ketosis!!!"

Anyhow i called in sick to work, and when i got home my ketostix had arrived... nice strong purple colour so am pleased!!

dealing with the toothache now the anaestetic is wearing off! but at least i've not screwed my diet!

  • Started Cambridge today.

I'm a guy 27, 5ft 4 and 17 stone 11 lb!!! Gave up smoking 2 years ago and the weight has piled on. Some of the blokes at work say carrying a couple of stones is better than a couple of diseased lungs but i think i'm carrying more than a couple extra!!

Well i tried the original porridge this morning and thought it was disgusting! Ended up drinking it just so i had something. Has a choc mint shake for lunch, warm and it was nice. Vanilla after work which wasn't as nice as the choc one. Soup for my evening meal lets hope its nice!! What's the apple and cinnamon porridge like?

Not really got hungry today as of yet but i've been busy all day.

mercury - i've tried both porriges and at first i thought both were okay but tiny portions... then i realised that it didn't taste that great and portions were actually more than enough!!! lol!

i like vanilla/toffee walknut/butterscotch/fruits of forest/strawberry as a shake and chocolate types as a hot choc drink.

i have a packet of brocolli and cheese soup which i absolutely am dreading that one! why did i buy it?????? lol!!

I just bought vanilla and butterscotch this week with a couple of banana and strawberry to break the monotony a little bit...good luck with the weigh in tonight....

  • OK so I've had three days off. Not intentional and certainly not recommended but today I am going to get back on track. Won't be easy tummy is already rumbling but going to be determined. Today is a hard day for me because I work all night tonight so if I can get through it I will be confidently back on track.

Glad so many seem to be getting on well and starting this great diet.

woooo woo sammy! well done babes! i'm not gonna recognise you in Manchester you skinny bint!

i'm not keen on banana shakes as a rule so haven't opted for them at all...

preordered mine with my CDC for tonight so they will have my order ready... i was hoping to go down to SS 3 packs but i'm told i need to stay on 4, so will be £45 again this week, and i am skint so could do without the expense...

My home scales showed down to 15st 4lbs, which would be amazing from 16st 3 last week, but when i jumped on the scales at leisure centre this morning it said 15st 9... which is great as before they were always stuck between 16s 5 and 16s 7... for months!! however it has me worried that CDC scales will show on the heavy side.... there is a definite downward trend and i should be happy, i *am* happy but nervous too that my lighter scales are giving me false readings..... will know for sure tonight, and will set my scales up inline with CDC when i get home....

Shoppie, you will be right, you're an inspiration and a source of information for me so get back on it, forgive yourself and move on. Hope you enjoyed the few days respite!

How's everyone else doing??? Lads? Lassies?? I'm concious that i'm blethering away on this thread a lot! sorry!
