The trouble is that the weight limit on jet2 is just 17kgs!

    Not a lot really.

The flight was only £42 so was worth it, I suppose!

  • i am wondering about losing weight so quickly... can anyone who HAS ACTUALLY BEEN ON THE DIET and lost weight, please tell me if you get excess skin/stretch marks/lumps and bumps/anything else????? Thanks! :)
  • can anyone reccommend a good counsellor in the luton/beds area? i dont feel comfortable just ringing someone up and a reccommendation is worth a lot with expensive diets!! Thanks

Me too.....never heard that before. There are other many ways to control weight. Here are some weight loss suggestions .....
    • Drink 8 glasses of water every day (not including tea, coffee or other beverages)
    • Eat only when hungry and just until you are full
    • Eat slowly in a relaxed environment. It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to message the brain that you are full
    • Choose foods that require a lot of chewing; you will be satisfied with less food
    • A warm beverage with a meal helps to make you feel full and satisfied
    • Trick your eye by serving food on a smaller plate
    • Starving between meals? Try a piece of fruit with a few almonds
    • Keep your kitchen stocked with healthy foods and ready to eat snacks
    • Remember that small steps add up to help you achieve goals

i have tried all of those things... which is why i need a diet because those small changes haven't worked!! I only want to lose 2 stone or so, i'd be happy with 1 stone to be honest, but it'd take years if i did it with little changes! Thanks for the advice tho, it might help someone else who didnt want to go the diet way.

    Hi Vanessa

I have been doing Cambridge since March and lost 4 stone out of the 6 I want to lose. I have got some excess skin on my chest and stomach but to be fair its not that bad and sit ups and exercise have helped ( I am 30 by the way). I have also had 2 C sections in 4 years so my stomach was never much to write home about anyway!

You may get some loose skin but drinking all the water helps the elasticity, it is in no way all baggy or weird I am not ashamed of how my body looks skin wise I just cant wait to be even slimmer ! I cant recommend anyone in that area as I am from the Midlands. If you go onto the Cambridge Diet forum from the Cambridge Diet web page you could post on there and ask.

This diet is good though and it is worth the money, you get what you pay for

Vanessa - some people I've spoken to swear by bio-oil or Palmer's cocoa butter moisturiser for saggy skin and stretch marks.
    Lots of water also helps.
I personally have the cocoa butter, smells lovely. :p

I'm not from anywhere near Luton so can't help with that - but look on the Cambridge Diet website and it'll have a list of Counsellors in your area.
A good idea would be to ring each and ask questions, e.g. how much they charge, and see who you like best. :)

    Hi all

I amseriously considering starting the cambridge diet. I live in the blackpool area and am waiting for a counsellor to get back to me.

Do you have to get medical clearance before you start the diet. I ask because my gp refused to sign the mrdical form when I tried to start lighter life last year???

    Hi De2

You will need to get the form signed by your GP if you have any medical conditions that may be affected by a VLCD (Very low calorie diet) or if your BMI is over 40. You can do other levels of the Cambridge diet and once your BMI is below 40 you can do Sole Source.

If you start on the Sole Source programme which is 3 or 4 products a day and no other food, a Cambridge Diet Counsellor will notify your GP but not need permission unless the above applies.

Good luck from a fellow Northener who used to live in Lancs :p

Hope it all works out for you

I don’t know if I should be saying this but I don’t remember my counsellor asking who my GP was. My BMI is no where near 40 and I do not have any significant medical conditions but it would still mean that my GP would not be contacted.
As I saw it I’m an adult and was making an informed choice about going on the Cambridge diet.
De2 I live in Blackburn and my nearest counsellor was 10 miles away.
