    STS this week :(

But I'm really enjoying 1000, so I shall carry on. :D

I might go on WW to lose the last half stone or so. :)

Well I lost 1 lb this morning :)
It's nice to finally see the scales shift!

I have decided when I have about a stone to go, I'll go to Weight Watchers, my sister said she'll join me too :)

So I have 11 lbs to go until I leave CD, so 3-4 weeks until I come off CD.
Though I shall have to try one of the new tetras when they arrive. :p

    Jennikay,

Can I just ask why you want to go to WW when you have a stone to lose as it may take a while on this diet compared to CD when it could be off in a matter of weeks?

Because I'm planning to go on the 'core' plan, which is a list of foods we're allowed plus a points allowance for treats.
It's more about healthy eating than points-counting, which is what I'm aiming for.

It will also teach me how much chocolate is acceptable per week ;) haha.

Plus, my sister will go to WW with me and we can cook each other healthy food etc :)

I reall intend this to be the last time I ever 'diet', so any healthy eating guidance I can get from anywhere, I shall grab with both hands :)
  • Good evening to you all.

Perhaps you kind people can enlighten me. I'm considering jumping onto the wagon that is the Cambridge Diet, in the hope of not causing a major collapse! Now, I've been told I need to get my GP to sign a medical form, which is fine. Will the counseller then contact my GP? Will I need to give my GP's details to the counseller?

Also, I've read in the booklet that the diet won't affect lean parts of my body. Is this true? I'm not suddenly going to eat my heart overnight?

I think that's all for now. Thanks in advance...

It's a brilliant diet for fast weight loss, good luck to you :)

I would assume that if your GP signs the form then your counsellor wouldn't need to contact your GP but I'm not certain at all on that one.

Yep, it's true that your muscle will be protected.
We go into a condition called ketosis, which is basically fat-burning mode, and no muscle is used up in ketosis :)

Also, the packs have enough protein in them to avoid any muscle being lost.

    Hope this helps :)

    Thanks for your help.

Which brings me to another question, is ketosis dangerous? Am I likely to develop diabetes (having looked on the NHS site)? Or is it not risky because of the ingredients in the diet?

    Thanks in advance once more!

    Hi

As far as I know ketosis isnt dangerous hun, I have been doing this since March and I have been ok. Drink plenty and if on SS lay off the exercise or only do what you would before SS eg walking, swimming etc. Lots of diets encourage ketosis, I did Atkins a few years back and was also in ketosis.

You are not more likely to develop diabetes doing CD. You are more likely to develop diabetes and other similar weight related problems by being overweight and eating bad foods and having an unhealthy lifestyle.

The CD packs contain all the bits and bobs you need, I was skeptical about this as I was anaemic before but my iron level is good when I am on CD and in general my bloodwork was ok and my BP has been perfect throughout

    Take care

I have been on CD a year now.

I have blood tests every four weeks due to medication I take. My blood tests have remained perfect and I have lost over 11 stones so far
