It's probably not the best idea going into this diet with a negative view of it :o or you may find it very difficult to muster the willpower to stay on it!
And other diets e.g. lighter life, are more expensive.

Extra skin - it depends on how young you are. Younger people are less likely to get excess skin, though toning exercises help e.g. yoga, or apparently toning plates are good. (The ones you stand on and they vibrate.)

Bear in mind you'll get excess skin on any diet you choose to follow, just that it appears faster with CD as you lose weight alot faster than most.

Good luck :D the first few days are the worst, but then after that it gets alot easier.

CnQ - there's a huge range of wheat free products now, that didn't exist a few years back. In my local Sainsbury's there about half an aisle devoted to wheat/gluten free bread, pasta, chocolate, biscuits, lots of stuff!

So you shouldn't have many problems :)

Thanks, yes, in my Tesco's too.

The problem is eating out or going away on holiday.

At home I will have no problems at all. Am going to make my own bread in the bread-maker using gluten-free flour but will bake it in the oven as it is better that way, apparently. Not bothered about the cakes/biscuits but really pleased that they do the gluten-free pasta/lasagna.

Am still not looking forward to it, though, for all that

Yeah, my mum made some in the bread maker (she has a gluten allergy) and it was like concrete :D
She gets rye bread from the supermarkets now, Morrison's do a rye and spelt one which she likes.

I guess just don't eat bread or pasta when you go away and you're fine. :)
Which sucks a bit, but hey.

Or you could take rye bread, you can get it in sealed packets which last ages.

Hi I just wanted some advice. Im a vegie and weight about 114kg, I been going gym for over month 4/5 time a week doing around an hour cardio and weights. I don't seem to have lost much to any weight. I know I have put on muscle and fitness has improved but I need to loose fat on belly and other typical areas.

My question is a) Im not good at giving up food all together does it get easier after a day or so? Does it effect concentration?

Also can I continue building muscle via weights and going gym while on CD?

    thanks

i am going to start cd tommorow, i am feeling very nervous and for some reason i think i will be wasting my money and time.
please can someone tell me that when you lose weight , what happens to all that excess flabby skin on your body. does that go 2.
i am 14st 11 pounds and i want to lose atleast 4 stone.

Hi Sofia 25, I think Jennikay is right you have to have a positive mental attitude before beginning this diet because it is not easy.
The first few days are said to be the hardest because you will be detoxing from carbs, caffeine, etc hence possible headaches, feeling nauseas, being tired etc.
I did not experience any of that so for me the hardest bit was simply not being able to eat ANYTHING! I planned my days carefully and set myself tasks to do for when I am at my weakness and most incline to snack. I now have a boot full of homemade shopping bags, tidy underwear drawers, clean shoes, an ordered wardrobe etc.

You need to go easy on the exercise for the first week or possible not exercise at all depending and how you feel. After that I was advised to carry on doing what I was already doing. Age does have something to do with the excess skin but so does skin type and genetics. Personally I think exercise is a good thing and can only do you good – you may need to ask for some specific toning exercises.

Having said all that your body does get used to having so few calories and you stop feeling hungry, you loss weight very quickly (muscle weighs more that fat so weight loss may not be as quick) and you will soon see the difference in your clothes. I’m quite muscular so I measure myself as well.

Most people have a big weight loss in the first week and for me that was a WOW - I am so going to stick to this – eating is for the weak - LOL!!

For me this website and www.minimins.com have been my life line, my inspiration and provides bags and bags of support.

    Good luck

If you want to do as much gym work on CD you need to do the 810 programme since the lower programmes won't give you enough calories for that much exercise.

The 810 is three meal replacements plus a large meal (the Quorn certainly is!) plus skimmed milk allowance which can be swapped for fat-free plain yoghurt ( you can add some of the CD water flavouring to this for a fruity flavour).

No it does not affect concentration at all. Cut back on your carbs at least four days before you start CD and increase your water intake and the carb-withdrawals won't be a problem

Do give CD a try it is a fabulous Diet Plan

1 stone of muscle weighs exactly the same as 1 stone of fat.

However, muscle is more dense therefore there will will less volume of the body than if it were all fat, if that makes sense

You can't build muscle whilst on CD...in fact you can't build muscle on any diet that is calorie restricted, be it WW, SW etc.

You can help preserve the muscle that you have, and even strengthen it, but not build it.

    Hi

I have been doing CD and I would say it is definately not a waste of money, I have a wobbly tummy as I have had 2 babies and I was overweight but it has gone down enormously, my arms and legs are a bit wobbly but I am still overweight, you wont be left with huge folds of skin if thats what your worried about, just drink plenty of water a day and you will be fine
